Any other inventors or tinkerers out there?

I a week or so, I have an appointment with a patent lawyer to help develop an invention idea I have. If all goes well, I will be set for life, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Anyway, this is my second idea that I have had in which I have actually taken steps to get my idea panented, (the first one was already patented:( ). It will be a long drawn out process where we will have to look through patents to see if there is any other designs similar to mine. My idea isn't a brand new product, but it is a combonation of two existing products that will make human life a little more toleralbe.

I was just curious if there was anyone out there that had developed an invention and you now own the patent to.

Currently I have a prototype, and the drawing (CAD) to help with my quest to gain a patent. This isn't the greatest idea I have had, but is the one that would generate more money than any other that I have.

I haven't gotten anything patented, because (like yourself) I've found out what a painful process it is. So many things are patented. Funnily enough, most of the ideas are never put into production because the person who patented the idea doesn't have the money to pursue the project... so it's just sitting there.

Inventing isn't really my niche though, and the patenting process is a put-off... but I do tinker around for my own personal curiosity. Haven't really done anything spectacular... but all the same I've done some fairly interesting stuff, at least for someone with no training in said subject.

Without divulging too much info, can you give us an idea of what you came up with, either in the past or now?

It is a remedy for heat outside. I came up with the idea from losing about 10 lbs in sweat at my daughter's softball tournement.
That's about all I can give.

I don't know, because I want to get both international and U.S. patents.

I'll tell you what, for showing interest I'll send you one if and when it goes into production.

I have a lot of ideas but I lack the initiative to begin anything seriuosly. My uncle works for Patent Trade Office and the stories he tells really puts me off.

It's not a personal fan that squirts water, is it? :o

crap!

no, it's not, and this isn't "guess what my invention is" either.:D

First and foremost, good luck. I know getting a patent is a pain in the padded ass. So kudos to your go-get 'em attitude.

Secondly, I kinda tinker. I learn by taking things apart [both literally and figuratively--that's how I learned what I know about computers]. I've built a lot of stuff in the carpentry spectrum, but little inventing. Unless you count this kickass chili recipe I made.

look forward to hearing more about it... ...eventually

i think of things that could be made but i'd probably have to talk to people at a R&D department of a technology firm just to work on the details. the overall concepts are sound tho, and based on combining cheap existing technologies.

what was your past idea?(the one that was already patented?)

I want to be an inventor... I watch the new inventors every week and get angry because I didnt think of the things on the show :(
