Are they really worth the extra money? I got a few in paperbacks, and might want to get Absolute ones like TDKR, and Sandman but Sandman is REALLY expensive. Ronin comes out soon, and the new version of Watchmen comes out in November.

I only collect the absolute Batman stuff. You're better off staying with the Sandman tpbs than the absolutes. It was like $100 for and extra 20-30 pages of artwork.

I buy them and, for the most part, they're worth the money.

I avoided the Dark Knight like the plague. What a s***ty comic. Sandman, however, was gorgeous. Money well spent.

The version of Watchmen coming out isn't "new," it's just another printing.

I'm an Absolute collector, having:

- Crisis on Infinite Earths
- The Sandman Volume 1
- The Sandman Volume 2
- The Sandman Volume 3
- The Watchmen

Planning to get later, in this order:

- The Sandman Volume 4
- Batman: The Long Halloween
- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 1
- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 2
- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier

I would like to see V for Vendetta, Lucifer, or Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing get an Absolute Treatment.

I've got Crisis on Infinite Earths, Hush, Long Halloween, Watchmen, Sandman vol. 1, Sandman vol. 2, Sandman vol. 3, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol. 1, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol. 2, New Frontier and Kingdom Come.

I'd kill a puppy for Morrison's JLA or Preacher in Absolute.

i plan on getting absolute hush as i am a huge jim lee fan - going to add it to my batman library of hardcover and tpb. (purists may want to ignore that lol)

I've got the Kingdom Come and New Frontier ones (in the latter case, it's the only way to find the story whole).

I want Absolutes of certain things, but I don't think I'd collect them. There are some stories in Absolute format that I don't really care about either way. I don't actually own any Absolutes yet, mostly because they're so expensive, but I'm gonna get them eventually.

I think I may just try to get one of those too Leaguer. I would also say that I dont COLLECT but definately buy them when i feel that its the only way to read the story.

I've got Kingdom Come & New Frontier (that's how much I love these stories). If I can scrape up the cash I may get Dark Knight.

I heard somewhere that the Absolute: Watchmen was re-colored. Is that true and if so what does it look like? Way better?

It looks really good, but they didn't go overboard. I think the way the color looks now is perfect.

I own a lot of the Absolute books. They are expensive, but I have a Border's reward card and I always wait until they send out the "40% off any book" coupon. That makes the price far more palatable to me.
I like the size of the artwork and the books are designed very nicely.
I just wonder how long it will be until we get Identity Crisis and Infinite Crisis in that format.

Awesome, thanks! I've looked all over the internet to try and find some scans or something with no luck at all.

Damn, I want a version of the Watchmen with the new coloring but I don't really care enough to buy some gigantic, expensive, hardcover version of it. I just want the regular tpb with good coloring!

After the coupon, I paid $45 for the Watchmen Absolute edition. I thought that was a very fair price.

I have Absolute: Long Halloween and Hush. Both are nice, but the hardcover for Long Halloween is higher quality. Check them out on amazon.com. They usually have them for quite a bit under the retail price.

I wonder how they pick what to give the treatment to. Ronin would not have been my next choice.

Absolute treatment seems to be arbitrary. I'm pretty sure Alex Ross had to really push DC to put out the Absolute Kingdom Come. They same may have been true with Jeph Loeb and Long Halloween.

FINALLY.

I've been waiting for this to make Absolute status. I'm going to buy the hell out of it.
