I'm disappointed in hearing this since I don't like it when characters are replaced with totally different people (Ex: Hulk or Aunt Vivian from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). I'd rather have them not make a sequel at all.

yea I could imagine but Id sure feel sorry for Uncle Phil. Hulk as your wife, poor guy may never be able to sit down again! What?!?! They switched Aunt Vivian out with the Incredible Hulk?! When did that happen?
jk, but can you imagine? "Hey Uncle Phil! Hey Aunt Hulk!" "RAWR!! WILL OUT LATE!!! NOT HOME FOR CURPHEW!!!"
Don't feel bad for Thomas Jane, he can still get other roles, it's this new guy replacing him that might not bring in the audience.
What's his name, Ray Stevens, Cat Stevens, Ray Parker Jr.?
The first movie was a hit?whoever is making Punisher 2 better get on there hands and knees and beg Thomas Jane to come back because this movie will flop without him he is 1 bad ass mofo and is an awesome Punisher
The first movie was a hit?
If it's such a hit why didn't the studio fast track the movie? Why did the star leave? Oh! Because it wasn't a hit, if it was the star would have stayed on board for the huge pay raise he's get. The movie's 33 million dollar budget would be doubled...because thats how hollywood works. It was a hit like Daredevil was.
I can't believe you are comparing ET to The Punisher! ET was obviously a stand alone film while the Punisher is a dumb (poorly made) action comicbook movie that hints at a sequel at the end of the tortue...er movie.Because they... don't have to fast track a sequel just because one film was a success? Duh, that's pretty obvious. ET was a success to but you don't see a sequel to that, do you?
And Thomas Jane didn't leave because of money, for probably the first time in the history of film, he actually TRULY left for creative differences.
