Anyone From England?

I've been here for five years (starting my 6th at the beginning of september). I'm doing Phd In the Materials building just behind mappin, currently there actually.

you always bloody mention you are from sheffied and this is the first time in nearly a year and a half you've actually aknowledged my existence. you and elxtrix are notorious for that :)

how come you are here for the summer?
Lol, sorry dude. It wasn't intentional. I forget half the threads I've posted in.

I'm staying in Sheffield mainly because I'm just not much of a home boy. I went home for a couple of days to see the family and for my mum's birthday, but that's their lot. If I stay at home for the summer, I become a glorified babysitter for my two younger brothers, my two nephews, and any cousins the family see fit to palm off on me. Sheffield is a more relaxed existence. Plus, the idea was I'd find it easier to get a job for the summer in a city as big as Sheffield, and yes I still managed not to find one.

You planning on staying in Sheffield after your phd?

Where about in South Yorkshire? I'm in Sheffield

I'm about 30 miles from there. Doncaster.

Recently got that Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Stupid name.

I go to Sheffield often, to Meadowhall and Hallam FM arena.

the bassist in my band's brother lives in Sheffield. He is in his early 20s.

I didn't realise Doncaster was that far away from Sheffield. I've always thought of it being just down the road. A friend on my course (Alison Heyes, just in case you know her :p) lives in Doncaster, and she commutes to Sheffield every day rather than getting accommodation here.

People are always trying to drag me for a night out in Doncaster. Apparantly you have some dodgy underground clubs that are essentially drug hovels.

Yeah i know what you mean about going home and all, i've only been back for a week myself although technically i don't get a summer holiday so it's not really so bad, i can openly use that as an excuse to avoid them

phd does finish for 2 more years so there is plenty of time to before i have to think about what i need to get on with.

Yeah, the city gets a lil dead in the summer, not much room if you are looking to find extra work in retail or in a bar/pup. There are advertising for new staff in bar one for next year if you fancy it, best to get in early before all the other students rush in to take all the vancancies (or are you looking for something more career based for employment)

It does get quiet. I miss seeing students everywhere.

As for the job, getting one in law means working for free. Not a chance in hell of getting any paid work. I only wanted to work over summer anyway. I won't work in term time, especially not since this will be my final year.

I heard that English men have small wankers.
True or False
I should think it depends on the person, much as it does everywhere else.

You might be laughing at me now...but when the dust settles my teeth are straight.

There was actually a beer available in america for a time called wanker

I really want to suck on one of those Wankers.

I love how the pictures on the bottles relate to the name.

I am from glorious Huddersfield..

Is that a different place to boring grimy smelly Huddersfield?
