Screenname of the Proposed RPG’s Game Master: Syn (Mercenary)

Do You Have An Instant Messenger that we can reach you on for better conversation? (i.e MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ect.) And if so, what is your screenname?: You all have it.

Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen: Eddie Brock, Venom 160

How will the overall layout of the RPG be?: It will be like the other RPGs with NPCs and PC characters. If someone picks a character not shown in the lore as of yet, they can start him from scratch and give him their own backstory (so long as it isn't outlandish to the character's personality as shown before in other incarnations.).

Premise of RPG, if it is a user created RPG see below for applicable additions to this Applicaton, (Must be a paragraph or longer).

I figured this RPG could start six months to a year after the first Transformers movie. That would be our continuity. This will allow for other Transformers to have come to Earth already and be living among the humans without having to bring anyone to Earth as was done the last time this was tried.

The characters already shown in the film (and film comics if everyone thinks it's a good idea) can be the characters whose backstories are set already according to the movie lore. Any other characters (I.E. Prowl, Hound, etc.) can have their back stories made up by the poster (if they choose to reveal it at all).

I'd figure it'd also be a good option to allow humans to be played too such as Captain Lennox, Sam Witwicky, etc.

What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? (please write two complete sentences): An RPG where people can play Transformers.
Hopefully fun and epicness.

Wasn't there already one?

Either way, if it's using movie continuity, I say wait until ROTF comes out so there's more to work with (or ignore if it's not good :p).

Hope you have better luck with this one then I had when I tried to bring it back. Count me in by the way.

I'm pretty much just giving this one plenty of time to gain momentum. ROTF is 17 days away, so I think that should be plenty of time to get more support.

Maybe.....as long as I can stomp on every single human character.

Sideswipe? Bumblebee? Red Alert? So many options, so little time...

As much as almost any other Transformers continuity's storyline would probably be better suited for an RPG (let's face it: as entertaining as the film is, the movie universe isn't exactly known for its broad and encompassing story, or for giving the robots unique personalities other than "Optimus is the courageous leader and Megatron's a singleminded brute, and the rest of them are simple followers"), I have to admit that the movie continuity is currently what most people around here know the characters from best. Having said that, I think I'd be up for taking part in this.

I have to ask, though; if we choose to play as characters that haven't been introduced in the movieverse, like Lockdown from Animated, or Ultra Magnus, do we have to establish them as having bodies that are in the style of the movie 'formers? Or can we come up with some excuse (like maybe they came from a different kind of assembly line, or something simple like that) for certain characters having bodies that aesthetically differ from the other guys' visuals? I mean, if I took up Ultra Magnus, I'd personally prefer that he look like this in readers' minds:

UltraMagnus.jpg

...rather than the other RPers picturing him as having a body in the movie's style. Giving a little more freedom for players to choose such an option wouldn't have to contradict the movie's continuity, as long as a reason for the cosmetic differences is explained.

Maybe it's Cybertronian ethnicities?

Yeah, really, any plausible sounding excuse would work. Also, if a story can be cooked up from such a seemingly minor plotpoint of why some TFs look different than others (like what was done with the reasoning behind gender being introduced into the Transformer race in the comics), then even better.

And thus, I have killed this thread! :cmad:

Well since my App got 0 interest, I would definitely play this one.

Alas, a Clone High quote failed to arouse more attention for this thread.

This thread was not aroused. :cmad:

Where are the peeps going "Ooh! I'll join as long as I can be Optimus/Megatron/Megan Fox's shorts/etc"?

Ooh! I'll join as long as I can be Optimus/Megatron/Megan's Fox's shorts/etc.!
