Approval Rule Discussion

Yes, honestly, I'm sure there will be some critiquing;

"Oh, that power set might be to strong is X=y" etc...

We might not even need the 'Council of Seven' however getting rid of them would make MB and I the people with the sole responsibility.

Pure democracy is good, but there needs to be people to keep it alive and it's either just MB and I, or MB and I and others involved in the RPG's.

The Council of Seven. That has a nice ring to it, I hope you guys are like the guys from Superman II.

"GUILTY!"

And the Zombie RPG probaly woulda got the same treatment if we didn't think it was approved.
The rules and setup were all well thought out in the initial post of the OOC thread, so I personally would've joined without the "approval" tag. There was no reason not to, other than the potential for being shut down for not being approved.

The Zombie RPG is water under the bridge, however it was a tad underhanded in the way it was handled. And the 'APPROVED' *so tacky by the wayin the thread titles* won't be needed once we get the Approval Forum set up...

SNAP!

We should call it "The Bullpen" instead of the 'approval Forum' :yay:

Wow...I eat dinner and I miss so much. I am happy with how things are working now. I don't think there needs to be the whole seven deal. Twy and MB keep things in order while the rest is left to democracy. As in this I mean, we get to pick what RPG we want or don't want and MB and Twy approve it or reject it based on what the majority thinks.

And Twy, when I said filter, I meant the application shouldn't go through a Panel or anything before going into the Approval Forum. But that is not the case so it really doesn't matter.

EDIT: Also, since the Zombie RPG approval thing was a big misunderstanding, is the NO NEW GAMES rule lifted?

'Lifted' howso?

Perferably no more RPG's will be put up until the approval forum *gosh it needs a new name* is ready to go and people know how to use it.

MB and I have already told two GM's with RPG ideas that they can't move forward with their RPG's till this is sorted out and the apporval process is decided.

Understandable. Maybe we should move this thread into the approval forum.

Just like to send an apology for any inconvieniance I've caused, I thought were were approved.

There should be a MOD who all things are directed to concerning RPG's, just so there is no argument over who to message etc, that way no misscommunications or anything will arise, who would nip things in the bud if they were to arise without justification. Just my two pence(not cents because the dollar is at a massive international slump, $2=£1!!!)

They are setting up an approval forum if you check the sub-forum page. You have to have an application there to make new RPG's so there will no longer be message passing to mods.

That's right. It will not be lifted until we get this mess sorted out, especially with the RPGS already in effect. Zombie included.

We will, Drak had to leave.

Done.

No problem. No harm meant. I should apologize, too, for not being more clear and concise. The problem with having an opinion and idea is that it's always more clear to yourself than it is to others.

And they still won't be modded. There are reasons for which, but like I said, I'm not at liberty to delve into them.

Personally, I think there should be a third person, just so that it's not set at a dead even vote thing.

Maybe there should be a rule that there should be a minimum number of characters in said universe, to allow for many people to play. Something like, for example, Power Rangers could get crowded fast (unless you'd want to play a putty, you sick bastard.).

Using his example, there are generally only 6 Power Rangers per season. That doesn't leave a lot of room for other people.

Small universes can't be translated too well.

I think that's part of the reason character-specific RPG's aren't being allowed, truth be told. (IE: Batman: The RPG, Superman: The RPG, Master Bruce: The Almighty King Of The World: The RPG, ect.)

Who would want a purely Superman or Batman RPG?

That's too closed up. Even the comics aren't like that...that's why they have guest stars every few issues. It can get stuffy only seeing the same characters over and over and over...

Okay, that's what I thought you meant, SF, but I wasn't sure.

Wow, you go to a Fourth party and come back to see you missed all the fireworks. :csad:

I know it's past point, but I have to agree with the Approval Forum. I think it's the perfect compromise.
