First joke I've seen today was Rebelscum.com posted that this November Lucasfilm will be releasing the SW Holiday Special: Enhanced Edition on Blu Ray, with a bunch of special features, plus added effects and updates to fit it in with the movies. As awesome as that would be for me (though yeah, special edition blah blah blah), I knew it was a joke as soon as I saw it.

EA Prepping Mature-Rated Harry Potter Game
It's L.A. Noire with wands.

It's time to ditch the LEGO wands and dorky school kids; EA is bringing Harry Potter back to gaming consoles in a bold new way. This gritty re-imagining of the Harry Potter franchise is based on an upcoming television series currently in development for FX.

The teaser trailer for the TV show hints that the plot will surround a new Potter story that expands upon some of the secondary characters established in the popular books and films.

While no gameplay video was released, the trailer for the TV show highlights the dark direction of the new series. This ain't your baby brother's Harry Potter.
Developer Criterion Games is said to be working closely with lead writer Shawn Ryan (responsible for creating the hit FX television cop drama The Shield) on maintaining the story's integrity.

Details on gameplay are scarce, but we've been promised "dynamic rooftop spell battles" and an interrogation system similar to the one seen in Rockstar's L.A. Noire. While no platforms are officially announced (there isn't even an official title yet), knowing EA's history they'll be spreading this M-rated Potter across everything with a power plug this fall.
