Aquaman preview

The show hasn't been cancelled. It's just on hold. If the CW sees that we really want the show, chances are we will see it sometime in the future.

Just like they the old WB picked up Angel after they cancelld it for another Show that never got off the ground ? I am sure you are famaliar with how pissed the fans got. Petitions did nothing & its the same Studio under a new Name. While I'll help I just think it wont do much. No matter how popular it gets. If we are lucky the most we will probably see is a DVD Release of the Pilot. But as I said we would have to be very lucky

Are tv networks runned by mindless chimps?!

How can they not pick this up?! :(

I hope some other network picks this up if the CW drops it for good.

I'm impressed, it's a real shame they didn't at least give it a season.

The main difference being:

1. Angel had a couple of seasons when it was cancelled. The WB knew the stats.
2. It was not during a transitional period

Aquaman has a strong chance at being a replacement show. Which, after seein what happened to Just Legal gives me hope that another Just Legal scenario will happen again.

I wasn't planning on watching the show at all, but I gotta admit it looked good. I'm interested now.

And that's what I think will turn the tide in the favor.

CW obviously did show interest, it had a main page established for the show and everything.

The schedule can easily fit Aquaman in, the CW does not need 'encore' presentations on primetime- no other network does this and the statistics will show this.

Several possibilities all leading to pick-up of Aquaman:
1. Seventh Heaven fails- 60% possibility
2. A new Pilot doesn't do as well as intended- 55% possibility
3. Encore Presentations of a dumb reality show fails- 80% possibility

There's many outcomes that will come from the schedule. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if AM is brought onto the network AND another show that was 'pulled' because of the transition. Because it all looks like CW picked a very fallable schedule. No other primetime network has encores for primetime- repeats are shown from the 10 to 11 bracket & after that. Also, bringing back a show that has run far too many seasons already wasn't a smart move either. I just see many open doors for Aquaman. The network is interested in the show, now it's our job to show that we are interested too.

That commercial was pretty cool. Not bad, not bad at all.
But it didn't say anything about being called Mercy Reef it said AQUAMAN at the end, which, imo, is far better.
I'm not so sure i dig the actor in the role, he just didn't convince me, he's just slightly better than the actor who cameod in Smallville.
They could have done better.
But the commercial was strong and impressive. The fx looked pretty cool, and the actors, for the most part, seemed well cast.
Ving Rhames needs to open up and try acting differently, he's always acting the same.
I would like to see this pilot, I hope some network gives it a shot. Or I hope they atleast release it on dvd.

Dammit. This series could've done really well, and probably still can if it's taken off hold for the time being. The special effects for the under water sequences looked decent, even the acting seemed well in tact. At first when the show was beginning to film there was a lot of doubts in it such as people not going to watch it, but now with this preview and looking at this thread it seems those odds have changed.

The preview did resemble one of a film I admit, even in the ending with the Aquaman name instead of Mercy Reef. And if anyone recognized during half through it in the backround, the same music was used from the Batman Begins trailers. Anyway, I would hope that there's still a bit of life for the series. If the CW doesn't pick it up, then maybe another channel such as Sci-Fi would take it under consideration of not letting it go to waste.

..Yet another strike towards the WB.

The first time, they cancelled Angel.
I don't even want to go into the rest.

At least this show could've had one season, so I would've known if it would've sucked or not.

Would have been amazing!!!!

The preview looked good, but as we all know, previews can be deceiving. I woulda given it a shot, though.

The preview looked all right, but I'm fairly sure the show was doomed to failure. It looked like it would've made too many concessions on the Aquaman canon to sit well with comic fans and, when all's said and done, it's still Aquaman so it probably wouldn't have done well with mainstream audiences. I think at most we would've gotten a season out of it.

Probably. Still, they didn't seem too far off. They obviously combined the post and pre crisis versions together. But it still would have been the story of him discovering Atlantis and reclaiming the throne. Besides, Ving Rhames as Vulco is just ****ing cool.

You can definitely figure out from the Previews that he would eventually go to Atlantis. Maybe Season Finale or he would first find it First Break of the Season :o

I'm hoping that they posibly pick it up mid season or for the 2007-2008 season. This looks better than most superhero movies.

Signed. anythings better than Game Shows and Reality Programming.

BTW- tons of respect to the other people still holding a Grudge against the WB for cancelling Angel!!!

Yeah, I agree and upon announcement my expectations for the show were extremely low, then I saw the trailer and while it wasn't the best thing I've ever seen it really did impress me, or maybe I'm just on an Aquaman kick after reading Busiek's ****ing amazing run OYL...either way I felt a little chill when he called him Orin.

It's not an Aquaman kick. It's that this trailer, seems like it's for a movie. Some poster on here stated earlier that if it was attached SR- the audience would probably think it was for a movie. When I first showed it to my father, he asked "this is for a TV show?" Because the trailer definitely is movie quality.

A petition started yesterday. Now it's up to 300. Two hours ago there was around 150 sigs. What I really want to know is, what happened during that time that I don't know about? I mean, that's a MASSIVE jump in just a couple of hours.

Whatever happened with Flash getting his own series?

They were going to do one, but this one proposed instead. Yeah, so much for that. :o Flash would've been way cooler, especially with the speed that he'd used.

I just hurt myself. :(

BTW, hope this show get picked up. CW has a winner right here, I mean they can't be that damn blind!! Sides, if it does, then Flash can make a guest appearence. :D

Nice trailer, but waaay too little in their to judge the shows quality. When it comes down to it, its a lot of speical effects of a guy swimming. I'm guessing that maybe the pilot was okay, but the budget was just too gargantuan to risk on a show about what the public considers as the lamest superhero ever.

Gough and Millar definitely nailed it and made Aquaman (the character) REALLY interesting.

That's only because they don't know about D-Man the homeless superhero
