Do you think Critics are being too harsh on Aquaman? Do you agree with some?

The scale of it alone was unprecedented in CBM. I think the last time there was something so grand was LOTR movies and Avatar

IW was basically people running around on a field lol
Well before we got to that field, there was a fair amount of action in the city and of course, IW starts in space to begin with.

Just being set in the space doesn't mean something is epic. To that end even though it was simple something like docking scene in Interstellar felt grander to me than all of that stuff in IW because of the terrific execution and acting in that moment

Yeah, me to. AT&TW was by far the dullest and uuinteresting CBM of the year. Honestly, I've stopped looking at RT to determine the quality of movies I may like two years ago. I mean, this year alone, both Venom and in particular Bohemian Rhapsody were far better movies then that aggregator suggested, while I found Black Panther to be completely average at best.

That's because there's a difference between quality evaluation, enjoyment, and appreciation. The fact that you personally don't like AM&TW doesn't necessarily speak to its quality at all, since a film is made to evoke an experience. It just didn't work for you.
Our taste in movies doesn't always align with the critics consensus, and that's fine.

It was good, it's one of the few (4 or 5) Marvel films i have watch, i believe is the 2nd i actually watched in a theather lol, it's good but it definetly is overrated (something i might be doing with AM so... cant complain)

Classic reaction to anyone criticizing a DC movie. You will never know peace.

lol, i see more struggle in some Marvel boys that often pretends on hating everything non Disney/Marvel related but thx for the advise user JOE

I'm not gonna turn this into Marvel v DC, but I do genuinely believe the critics judged this one overly harshly for some reason. This was essentially the movie everyone complained for ages Man of Steel wasnt: fun, exciting, epic, feel good adventure.

that's why sometimes i troll some ppl lol

Its all about execution. Movies these days are all deriviative from something. John Wick is the same old "badass assassin gets revenge because insert loved one here was killed" formula that we've seen a million times in movies since the 70s but Keanu's charisma and badass directing style has made people love that franchise. Wan made an 80's adventure film and put a very visually appealing stylstic twist on it. Plus, come on, some the action sequences is just stuff we have never seen before on film.

Slow down mate, JW is THE ****, plus Keanu is ****ing great, ugh, i still remember him from Constantine & Matrix, alfnlavnlas he's so good

Some people just like to overblow things and look for 'drama' on this board where there isn't any

I can honestly see why some critics might not have enjoyed this, but who honestly cares what they think. This movie is such a blast from start to finish and if they can't handle just the sheer amount of comic book epicness that is onscreen that that's entirely on them.

OMFG, It's already at 64, lmfao, last time i checked was in 70 hahahahaha damn
At least the audience score is at 86%, so im ok with that

Off topic but how tf is Mortal Engines that low?? 28% is ruthless af, i remember i saw the trailer in the theater and it looked awesome, at least visually was on point

It was actually at 63% yesterday and most of today. It went up!

really?? omg!! :lmao: hopefully they will be more kind when the Batman or Flash movie comes, otherwise im gonna fight them :woo

Just saw Bumblebee!!!! And WTF RT!!!

Aquaman and Bumblebee should SWITCH scores!!!

Really??!! RT has BB on the 90s which was average at best even though it's better than most TF movies.

BUT Aquaman was a way better movie!!!

Well, it looks like that RT score went down quite a bit. All those red flags made it easy to see coming. Don't say I didn't try to warn you.

Many of us are happy with being fresh. Thats good enough.

I did say many times that worst case was 60%. Since it is stablising at 64, it will probably stay 64 unless there are many negative reviews on the way to 300 reviews.

The percentage isnt made up by RT.com. The percentage is determined by dividing the number of fresh reviews by the total number of reviews. And the critics themselves decide whether their review is rotten or fresh. Aquaman has 64% because only 64% of its submitted reviews were fresh.

That demonstrates the issue with Rotten Tomatoes though, the wide belief that the percentage score is a grade of the movie's quality. People will associate 64% as a 6/10 on a quality scale or a "C" grade film as opposed to reading it as 64% of critics who reviewed it recommended it.

It does have a 6/10 average rating

Take one cliché from every comic book movie of the past decade, put them in a blender, then throw that blender into the ocean. Boom. You've got yourself an Aquaman movie.
Full Review | Original Score: B-

I don’t know how a B- is rotten

Some critics have B- as a rotten. Some critics count C+ as a positive.

What is the name of two really dry/sarcastic reviewers who are usually sitting in chairs in a living room? One is a heavier set guy and the other very slight.
