Are comic movies the only genre that tries to alienate its core audience?

i have to say as a sci-fi fan and a fantasy fan there have been crimes on all fronts.
Jesus did you see Eragon?
no? How about Star Wars Episode 2?
both left the audience wondering WTF

The audience was already "WTF'd" out by Episode 1. The next two are not even worth bringing up after that one.
i know but it does help my point.
I won't go into it. there in not enough time, and I don't have the energy.

I'm watching the second disc of ROTSS, and the make up guy says how he got a great new Thing make-up that looked more like The modern Thing and everyone thought it looked great, then he says but we just went with something else.

WTF!

Why not do something that looked great and everyone agreed, and the fans would have liked.

I am so sick of hearing about nothing but changes to these comic book films! They are the way they are just leave them that way! they are poular for a reason and have been for decades. So many have tanked 'cause they have changed them too much, now they have to remake them instead of moving forward. If they hadn't have messed with it in the first place they wouldn't have to fix it.

Stay faithful!!!

The Spidey movies are the only ones that have done that well 'cause they stayed close enough, more than the others.

The fans do matter, other people do not, it'll make more money if it's faithful!

Just like in the FF, it could have been better if Galactus was in it, last time I checked it was 2007 and they have the technology for that now, like how cool he looked in that Marvel Legends game.

thing should have looked more like the modern thing that everyone loves and he looks better than what they came up with, even that new look in part 2 wasn't good enough.

alicia's not black.

Doom should be more of a strong character.

Reed comes off too wimpy, he's not that wimpy.

And by casting someone who is not white as a white woman, sue, they try to make her look more white and make her look strange instead, and no it is not believable that she is Johhny's Sister.

The director's ******ed plain and simple.

And none of them can act and those that could in other stuff act like they forgot how to act in the FF films, but what's his name that plays Johnny is the only one who does a good job and is believable as that character from the comics.

everyone else sucks.

The Silver Surfer was very good, and this one was better than one, but man they need to stop changing crap and quit treating the core audience like they don't matter, if it wasn't for the fans there wouldn't be any of this!:cmad:

Fantastic Four could've been much worse, it could've been Superman/Doomsday...

any adaptation will lose something in translation . this happens in movies mostly due to time constraints and production schedule . every genre has been affected by this .

Even when the source material is current, people will always want to change it to try and make it viewable for everyone..

And yes, I will always be against Spider-Man having organics. I didn't like it back in 2002, I don't like it now.

But Episode II was not based off anything. It was Lucas expanding upon his world (though, Episodes I and II were expansions I could have lived without).

i didn't find the f4 that far off the source material, for a translation anyway, it still had the same "feel" to it in my opinion.
You want a messed up translation to film? Ever read "the Lawnmower Man" short story? Because, yeah, that one was about as far off as it could possibly go.
