Are they ever going to decide to make a live action..

A Gotham Central series would be fantastic.

I see no reason why a Batman TV show's budget has to be massive. Just scale down some of the elements of it. The cave doesn't need to be ridiculously overdone, the Batmobile doesn't need to leap over rooftops...there don't need to be constant explosions, etc. I imagine you could pull it off on a similar budget as something like THE SOPRANOS or the average crime drama.

...you may be on to something. :oldrazz:

The Batusi & "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb"
In my eyes those are classic moments on the show (well with the bomb the 66 movie)

I'd also like series with Gotham city police department with Gordon in the lead. They could also have some lesser known villains like Zsazz or scarface. Batman would appear so that he is never seen completely, but some episodes could have Bruce Wayne guest star.

I'd love a new Batman TV show. keep it close to the comics and have the suit look like the one used on Batman: TAS. With black boots, gloves, leotard, cape and cowl and gray shirt and pants with dark yellowish ustility belt and ellipse around the blacl bat symbol on the chest.

Oh, and they must use the Keaton era batmobile or the one off of the New Adventures of Batman that came after batman TAS.

I'm with the few that are for a Gotham Central show rather than a Batman show.
It would be cool to have a live-action show but the only way it would work is to develop it wwaayyy after Nolan finishes his trilogy and also the show should have a very big budget.

Best way to do it is to have the show center around characters like Renee Montoya, Bullock, Gordon, etc. Batman should be mentioned but not shown frequently.

I don't really like that they gave Montoya a penis in the current comics....

How is her being a lipstick lesbian akin to having a penis? Other than being assertive, and an angry, self-destructive drunk, she's still very feminine...

A new TV show for The Batman would definitely be (for me anyway) a new twist/spin on the Batmobile. Hopefully something like the 66 version but with an updated twist to it. Perhaps take the paint scheme of the 66 version and throw it on a Dodge Charger, or any other super cool looking hot rod out there. Of course perhaps tweek the car they use in the inside to give it that Batman feel and flavor though.

I sketched out a similar concept a couple months ago: http://jochimus.deviantart.com/art/Batsketches-4-72528341

I think maybe I might have had the new Knight Rider in the back of my mind when I drew it, too, and also VIPER. Anyway, the main idea was to have the Batmobile be able easily disguise itself at the push of a button.

What if they used an SSC Ultimate Aero for The Batmobile? Its the fastest street car in the world. Here is a picture and some info on the car

Because what would be the point?

Sure, everyone likes Ice Cream, but given the choice between Vanilla and Strawberry the almost universal choice would be Strawberry. They're both Ice Cream, but given the choice everyone knows which they'd rather have. They're both set in Gotham City, but give an audience the choice between Gotham Central and Batman, and they'd all take Batman. Besides, there's no point for some sort of Cop show, there's like a dozen on the air right now.

To the person that said we'll never see a Live-action Batman show: I think you're wrong. More and more, what would tradionally be considered film franchises are moving into the TV market (Smallville, Terminator, Star Wars.) I think its only a matter of time before we get a Live-action Batman show, once Nolan's 3 movies are over. Heck, we could even get it sooner if WB want to jump on the bandwagon of super successful shows.

The reason I said there might not be a live action series. Is because while the Batman films were in limbo between 1997 and 2005, WB tv wanted to do a Bruce Wayne Tv series kind of like Smallville, but the WB films had a problem with it and wanted to release at that time Batman:Year One as both the movie and tv show would deal with a young Bruce Wayne and his origin. But since Justice League the movie might be made, WB could be open to a tv show. Because if Batman can be seen in two different films in Nolan's films and Justice League, then who knows a Batman tv series could be possible. personally, I would love to see a live action Batman series.

They should just make a live action Justice League tv show to compete with Heroes... It would crush the competition no doubt. But again, it has got to have a real big budget. This ain't no smallville justice league... this is the real deal costumes and all.

What would you all really want to see in a live action Batman series? I want lists, character wishes, ideas, gushing fanboy wants, etc.

Putting "something" together.

The real trick would be making it general enough to appeal to all audiences, but suffed with enough references and the like, that the real Bat-fans would be able to watch it without having their intelligence insulted.

As far as Robin's intro goes, maybe don't have him in the first few episodes, but after that just have him "show up" one day. Like he's always been there, but there was no need to include him.

I could definately get on board...
but there are so many directions such a show could take...
some more perilous than others.

The show was called Bruce Wayne, and it was created before Smallville, but then that idea was scrapped after WB signed Nolan to direct a Year One like movie, ala Batman Begins.

I myself wouldn't care to see a Batman show, but I would def. take time out to watch a live-action Batman Beyond series if done right.

Or, since WB was wanting to do a Graysons series, they could focus on a series about Nightwing.

Just not Bruce Wayne, cuz we're seeing him in Nolan's films. Do something more on the lines of Batman Beyond, Nightwing, or even Batgirl(say before she becomes Oracle, she leaves Batman to fight crime on her own). And the reason I say Nightwing is because we need to see a hero with the costume on, a Graysons TV series would be too dull to watch.

And at least with the universe of Batman, the heroes have no powers, so for special effects, you could use that for the fighting, or if a villain has superhuman abilities, such as Clayface or Killer Croc.
