The Dark Knight Are we getting a love triangle?

At 8 or 9 years old? No, I really didn't. I didn't start noticing girls like that until I was around 10.

Hmm, that's my mistake, I totally missed the fact that Bruce was 8 in those clips, didn't know that

And it was not evident in any way whatsoever in the Bruce/Rachel childhood scenes.

And as I already said, I welcome it, as we got no romantic plotline for Bruce in Begins.

When I first saw the movie, I had the impression that he had a thing for Rachel, only through body language and small things like that. But yeah I don't think there was any vague hint that Rachel and Bruce were attracted to each other, and like you said before that whole kiss thing at the end came out of nowhere. But when a guy sees BB, I think they may automatically think that yeah, of course he has a thing for Rachel, why not? Childhood friends all grown up, he seems to stop in his tracks when he sees her, and he shows great concern on making a good impression and her safety.

It's like Rachel is the only leading female character in the movie, and therefore people are supposed to assume she must be the love interest. Even though it's not there all thru the movie.

She was like Bruce's moral compass. Her and Alfred.

Has anyone mentioned this quote from this weekend's USA Weekend newspaper supplement insert thingamajig? My apologies if its been discussed.

Maggie: Everybody on my set was a guy! I have two lovers in the movie, and they're both these gorgeous men.

I'd welcome this love triangle and its most likely only a small part of the plot unlike the Superman Returns stuff we got.

wow, what a ho :o

I like the love triangle idea b/c I think it could do many things to further other plot points along, one of which, of course, is the friction that grows between Bruce and Harvey. I mean other things will be part of that too, but the Rachel factor may add to it as well.

And if the Joker messes with her, how both men will react to that. I doubt if it's going to be a prevalent part of the film, but a plot turn that can assist in the furthering of other aspects of Bruce and Harvey's journey through TDK.

It's funny how it's like in Empire Strikes Back with the whole Han/Leia/Luke thingie. Interesting how the second films in a series tend to have certain similarities (which of course has been discussed often on this board).......

Hmm *rubs chin*

Spider-Man 2: Peter/MJ/John

Empire Strikes Back: Han/Leia/Luke

Austin Powers 2: Austin/Felicity/Fat Bastard

We're onto something

A love triangle would turn the movie into a stupid chick flick :o

Not really though, it'll simply add conflict and tension towards Harvey and Bruce's relationship. It'll definitely work I think

:whatever:

"No Bruce, this is your mask. The man I loved, the man who left, he never came back"

Technically speaking, she did not love the man he became. :whatever:

Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, she'll see him again.

Tension which could've easily been dealt with, without the inclusion of Rachel.

We know damn well she WILL be in Joker's hands (effectively making her a damsel in distress despite trying to avoid the stereotype), but she also happens to be the "love" of the 2 men that are trying to save Gotham? I hate interconnected relationships like that. Really comes off as forced.

Of course we are getting one. The reason why they needed to recast in the first place. Needed the character for little else.

It's pretty evident at this point that there will indeed be a love triangle.

This is perfect, and WILL definetly embody the ideal of "dark" a love traingle, rachel daws dies, harvey dent becomes two-face and joker is responsible and creates havoc for batman, HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!! :brucebat:

Heh heh...... :word:

No prob

But she said she did love Bruce once. And you came into this thread like a troll demanding to know when she said she'd loved him: http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=14596531&postcount=37

You got your answer. Swallow your pride and accept it.

Like a troll? You make me laugh. :joker:

Btw, I didn't demand to know. I just thought she never said "I love you". Saying the man I loved vanished and never came back isn't the same as I love you. It felt more like she meant I used to love you. Now come back and tell me how I'm wrong with that interpretation, good sir?

*waves you two in*

Ok I want a good clean fight, no biting of the ears or nostrils, or attacking of anyone's mothers, let's do this. *bell*

am i the only one who thinks maggie looks gigantic in this picture??

Unjustly accusing someone of making up **** is trollish. I wasn't rude to you or anyone else. It's not hard to extend the same courtesy.

Btw, I didn't demand to know. I just thought she never said "I love you".

You said:

When did she tell him that she loved him?

She told him that she loved him before he had left Gotham City. Is that not telling him that she had loved him?

Saying the man I loved vanished and never came back isn't the same as I love you.

But you didn't ask that. You asked when did she say she loved him, not when did she say "I love you".

It felt more like she meant I used to love you. Now come back and tell me how I'm wrong with that interpretation, good sir?

No, you're absolutely right there. And it only compounds my original point that there was no romantic interest between Bruce and Rachel during the movie.

Gigantic? Are you serious, isn't gigantic at least Star Jones pre-gastric bypass or something?

But you didn't ask that. You asked when did she say she loved him, not when did she say "I love you".

You're right, I did say that. My bad. But I meant "When did she says she loved him in the scene?" Not if she had ever loved him before. This is a complicated mess, let's drop it.

Its not like Bruce tried to pop the question in the first movie. Yes they have a thing for each other which is seen in the first movie(not that lana crap in smallville) but its not like a YOUR THE ONE deal. Also not every chick has to have a -1 dress size. Better yet petite. Not every chick needs to be petite.
