The Dark Knight Are we getting a love triangle?

Whoa...Johansson is a great actress! Have you seen Girl with a Pearl Earring, she is amazing in that. Unfortunately, she had nothing to do in The Prestige...it was a bit part....

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nolan and I think The Prestige is his finest achievement to date, but he and Jonah fumbled a bit with the part of Olivia.
She served her purpose in the plot, although everyone in that film was simply manipulated by the two main characters anyway. Her last scene was rather  but...anyway.

It's gonna be more of a jealously thing with Bruce.. thats what it looked like
I can buy that. Bruce and Rachel have known each other for so long, and now there's this *gasp* other man in her life. Even without the whole "former romance" bit, considering how much Bruce isolates himself from people, I can definitely see how jealousy can play a part.

Bruce being jealous of another man. Yes, truly something only Nolan can convince fans that it's alright. :o

As long as it isn't jealousy over the size of their respective biceps, I think it's okay. :oldrazz:

If Supes (who's a glorified boyscout) gets ridiculed for it, I just find it funny that Bats (who's a glorified badass loner) gets a free pass. :o

Of course, Bruce might be torn because Dent's also a friend and he sees him as a very good man.... until the acid hits the fan.

Yea but Bruce is a tortured soul, thus he's allowed to be whiny about chicks sometimes.

Whiny and Bruce should never be in the same sentence. This is the guy that rarely shows compassion (overtly anyway), or who lets it get it to him. Any sort of jealousy misses a point of the character imo.

heh heh, ok wrong word choice, but I do think he is a moody tortured soul who on occasion as Bruce (never as Batman) will make poor choices or be jealous. Bruce in TLH is a good example of that. I think Carnatour has a good point to.

The man does have a wee-wee.

am i the only one who thinks maggie looks gigantic in this picture??

Who cares?? Maggie is a excellent actress that we're lucky enough to have in this film.

I don't know if the poster was referring to Maggie's weight or what (and yes I echo "who cares" in that regard); but her head looks huge next to Aaron's in that picture. Just a weird camera angle or something?

What did Bruce do in TLH?

I can understand Bruce showing compassion or remorse towards someone else, but that's a result of being human. I associate jealousy and longing, to that of a scorned lover. Big difference.

You know that's a poor excuse and any "man" that uses it would be laughed out of his manhood. :o

It's like my wife said. You never have a good movie without a love interest of some sort. They go hand in hand.

I believe Hemmingway said something like this about books, but who really gives a ****, Hemmingway sucks. The point is your wife is right. I believe it will give something extra for the Bruce Wayne part of the movie. I've always found it difficult for Bruce Wayne to be interesting. He's not like most superheroes. Wayne is the mask, batman is himself. BB's did a great job at this as will TDK hopefully. The other batman movies however, have a very very boring Bruce Wayne.

Well I see it this way:

Bruce deserves to be jealous as he has to realize that as long as he is Batman he cannot have a relationship/be in love. I think it helps support the theme of his realization that Batman is an outcast; he is totally devoted to the mission (to paraphrase the animated series) and nothing else matters. Of course if nothing else matters than there would be no cause for jealousy, but Bruce is only human after all. Add in the fact that Harvey is essentially a "public" Batman in a way, devoting himself to a similar cause where he is able to conduct himself as a normal person all the time. He is what Bruce isn't, and vice versa. All in all I think it is an interesting take on one major theme of this film: duality.

Snubbing Selina a number of times and acting indifferent one second and in love another (as well as becoming moody in DV after she takes off). In Hush to, he breaks it off with her because he can't deal with the duality of thier lives. Though I do agree that could be more about remorse then jealousy. However I don't see how jealousy and longing aren't human emotions

I dunno. Just like how Alfred represents the Past (or at least the Wayne history, IMO), I think Rachel represents to Bruce the Path Not Taken, perhaps; and seeing her with Harvey--well maybe not jealousy there, as much as regret, regret for the man he maybe might have been, had his parents not died. Or something? These are just off-the-cuff thoughts, not really deeply perused......

Well that's a play of their "hard to get" relationship that they're known for. That and the conflict between whether he should follow his heart or stern head.

Forgot a letter. It's meant to read "humane".

^That makes more sense.

I think Bruce is more of the hard to get one, at least in the case of TLH. Selina is pretty clear about what she wants. And yes the conflict is a part of that.

Was it lonely being the only woman in a comic book movie?
Liv: I'm used to that world from "The Lord of the Rings," even though it wasn't really a comic book.
Maggie: Everybody on my set was a guy! I have two lovers in the movie, and they're both these gorgeous men. Come to think of it, there were a lot of powerful, manly men around, and I didn't mind that particularly. [Laughs.]
Gwyneth: Mine was definitely a testosterone-fest. I was the only girl for miles, except for the women working in the wardrobe, hair and makeup departments. I would have time off when the guys would go blow things up in the desert, and every time I went back to work, they were happy to have a girl there. They had kind of forgotten that there were women in the world.

I'd heard someone talk about this before, thanks for the link :)

I want a triangle between Batman, Joker, and Harvey/Two-Face. :)
