Are you an ass-kisser at work?

I think everyone should do a little ass kissing every once in a while, but that's it. You have to show people that you're a leader and not a follower. If not you'll never move up.

I work in an office of about 140 people its small enough to where kiss assery isnt needed but it happens anyway...

not even if it meant improving your quality of life??
manic is right. unless it is an important job where you have to kiss ass to get your foot in and say, for example, get a high paying job that you have a degree in then definitely. but if its for some retail crap job like home depot (where i used to work and got passed for 3 promotions because of my constant refusal to kiss toma pachecanos ass) then its not worth it. it just means more dead end bull crap that will eventually get you no where in life but disappointment. luckily i finally got a job in my field and am happy as a pig in filth.

I work at an electronics store chain. It's a retail job I got until I earn my Communications degree. I'm not kissing ass just to I can go from $10/hour (no commission) to $8.50/hour+commission. As it is, I've given up on getting promoted, and am just working enough to keep from getting demoted ($9/hour, no commission) or fired.

When I've got my degree, and am looking for a job in my field, I'll think about maybe considering the possibility of kissing someone's ass to move up. As it is, I'm especially not considering kissing the ass of a man who I witnessed fishing for reasons not to promote me, last time a position opened up.

you should pm user: the joker and tell him to let you in on my little joke i have going on with my former employer. sweet revenge.

I aint kissin no ones ass, if they wanna fire me for not sucking up and being thier ***** than they can just fire me, its about respect with me, not jump when you say so, if my boss shows me respect i show it back.

I'm not an ass-kisser, but I tend to get along with my boss.

There's a difference between "being a leader and not a follower" and being an ass kisser

Me and my manager are on really good terms, it's only us two in the department as he's the IT Manager and I'm his assistant, we banter and laugh all the time about each other.

No ass kissing involved.

We were actually talking about this at the "forbidden site". I'm sure in real life you aren't the Darthphere we all know and love at the Hype. You're probably a nice kid. :o

You people....talk about me?

No ass kissing at my job, everybody hates everybody; but then again it IS retail.

You think I'm nice or they think you're nice?

They think i'm nice. You are sometimes right on here and sometimes you miss satire, you're not particularly unpleasant. I don't want your babies though.

Far from ass kissing I regularly get into arguments with my boss at work 'cause of their petty, hypocritical rules that they only enforce when it's convenient for them.

And that's why you're still working at a movie theatre?

Kaine you are the funniest poster on this site.

Well I am a director of a company and manage others. There is one guy who is really nice to me (nicer then my assistant) but it is gettig him no where.

I reward professionalism more then anything else but politics do play a role.

Myself, I have to answer to my shareholder (a billionare) and honestly, I guess I have to do almost whatever he asks professionaly given it his money. Is that ass kising, I don't know, but it is something I am required to do.

No, I'm not an ass-kisser. I show up to work, put in my hours and then go home. I get along with with everyone, and thats good enough.

hell ya!

oh, wait? no, sorry, thought that said "kicker"

LOL
