As a proud owner of a 360, x box, ps2 , gamecube, psp and soon to be owner of a wii, I know when a company like sony is trying to shaft me and overprice a (basically) 360 with a blu ray tacked on.

PS3 is sony's way of pushing blu ray onto customers. nothing more, nothing less. and I agree with you that people who buy it just because its sony is a sign of stupidty. Hell, I own a ps2 and psp, but I can see a rip off when its on the horizon.

It's not a sign of stupidity per se. Brand loyalty arises because the brand has earned the trust of the consumer on multiple occasions. It's not stupid to think this won't continue with future products. Not as informed as is preferably needed, but I don't think it equates to stupidity.

And sony pissed away all the trust I had in them with ps3, and any sane thinking person feels the same.

Basically, its a 360 but it costs 200 bucks more because they are forcing you to metaphorically suck cock with a blu ray player only the nerdiest tech heads want, and you will be paying 70 or so bucks for games you can get for 60 on 360. THE SAME GAMES WITH A TEN BUCK DIFFERENCE.

And the exclusives? I don't recall 360 ports for MGS4. I'd think it's retarted for someone to judge a console they haven't played yet because of a monetary difference that isn't even official yet(or is it?). There are plenty of reasons for someone to buy a PS3. Calling that insane is pretty immature.

thank you. I only plan on buying one (maybe 2 eventually) of the new gen consoles. And I will buy the one that looks like it will have the best games for my personal enjoyment...and right now that is the PS3...

Im getting it just for Metal Gear Solid 4. Im still playing MGS2 on my ps2. I never could beat Olga's gunfight on extreme. Best game series ever.
