Transformers Are you fine with Megatron as a Cybertronian Jet?

Assuming that this hasn't changed, what are your thoughts on Megatron being a Cybertronian Jet? For me, as long as the character resembles his G1 self in robot mode, then I'm fine with it. Which is possible, considering that the jet itself is alien in nature.

As long as it's not ridiculous over-teched out I don't have much of an issue. I'd still rather see something not alien, but that's just personal preference.

I don't like it.

It's like those that are a fan of certain characters don't want their character's alt. modes changed. I'm a big-time fan of G1 Megatron. I don't want his alt. mode turned into an alien jet. I want him as an Earth-based tank, cannon, armored truck, missile truck, or something along those lines.


BUT...if he's still Megatron in personality...I'll get over it REALLY quickly.

I think as long as he has the Megatron-ish voice and personality it will be fine. If they just have him as a juggernaught-esque thing smashing and bashing with no talking or chide remarks to Optimus, then its not really Megatron.

At first I was flat out against it, but then I figured as long as he looks like Megs, sounds like Megs and has a huge canon on his arm then I can accept him as a jet.

I voted No... because I agree with others that he should be a tank or something along those lines. But then I thought how a Tank doesn't even do justice to Megatron's "power" or "destructiveness" (I think a regular Gun was more poetic for the latter). I mean, a lumbering tank that can be taken out in a second by a straffe by anti tank gunship or jets? I think not.

If he can't be a gun in the hands of some misguided disturbed youth or gangmember (my dream Transformers movie), then an Alien Starship is just fine.

That design is awesome. Meg's would make so much sense as a tank (I'd certainly prefer that to him being a jet!)

being a tank is like a practicle version of being a pistol. I think i still have the old green/purple Megatron tank in a box somewhere.

At this point in time, i'm indifferent. We've been hearing all kinds of things, so I don't know what to think right now. In my opinion, it would be a million times better if Megatron was a handgun, or better yet, a tank. If he does turn out to be an alien jet, then I hope that he still looks like Megatron and acts like Megatron. And by this, I hope he still has his arm cannon, and the rest of his trademarks. Of course there would be a few differences, carried over from his alternate mode. And lets not forget his hatred towards the Autobots, but especially towards Optimus Prime.

But right now, i'm taking things with a grain of salt.

well i knew the chances of him bein a gun were slim and same goes for a cannon. So wen i heard him bein a tank, it made sense to me as tanks have big ass guns ontop of them. So my pick would be a tank and definately NO to a jet of any kind.

I voted 'no' but i should've went with 'indifferent'. I can see why he doesn't have an earth mode so the priority for me is that he resembles his G1 self as closely as possible for a live action setting.

Plus I'd be suprised if he wasn't reformatted in a sequel (assuming he lives).

That said, I think making him a jet because of one flashback scene is pretty weak.

am totally against megatron being a cybertronian jet,hopefully they'll change him to a tank or just a hugh freaking cannon.

however am thinking that maybe megatron never got the chance to assume a earth based vehicle,maybe he was captured by humans before got a chance to change his alt.mode and thats probably why he might be a cybertronian jet.

Im to the point where I know that every comic/game/cartoon movie adaptation is different from its source material. I just hope the movie is good. Thats all I care about.

i should have voted indifferent. this movie will both rule and suck. I just dont care anymore about wich outways the other. A tank would be fine, a gun would be better, a cannon would be galvatron and a jet would be starscream. enough said.

you know i thought about it, i wud have loved for him to be tank, even gun but now im thinking that maybe they can pull the jet thing off if it looks really briliant, i mean i could see megs and starscream hovering at superspeed together it make sense, a kind of deadly partnership

It would be stupid if he were a gun... unless you would all be ok with him standing 2 feet tall max.

I'm really hoping he'll be a tank of some sort. If hes a jet, I'll be ok with it, as long as it has a long canon looking like thing on it.

Hmm...I don't think I'd like him as a Jet...he can't be like Starscream...he has to seem more powerful in robot form AND transformed mode.

I think a Tank would be PERFECT.
