Comics Are you ready for the SECOND COMING of the Mutant Messiah?

yep they threw in Ultimate Apocalypse, Ultimate Onslaught, Ultimate Stryfe and Ultimate Phoenix all in one arc. It actually wasnt bad
Apocalypse, Onslaught, and Stryfe? What did the call the arc? "90's: With A Vengeance"?

That's what I'm saying. A story with Onslaught, Apocalypse, Stryfe AND the Phoenix should have ended the world, started a new one then crack it in two.

Haha the final battle nearly did end the world, but then Phoenix used her powers to reboot everything, bring everyone back to life and start over

...

That sounds like some ol' bull****.

You know what, I just read an interesting theory that actually makes alot of sense. Theory goes that Hope does not have telepathy or TK and thats not what she used in Hope. Hope's power is to see and utilize others powers at their full potential. Think of Synch. In Cable 21, she accessed Cable's TK to stop that bullet. Right now, Hope's powers are just emerging and have yet to mature but at its full potential, presumably, she'll be able to access and restore the lost mutant powers from Mday.

i'd really prefer that instead of her being Jean 2.0. but i think her powers are farther reaching than Synch's..if that were the case. why not just use him instead?

Should have the word extreme in there as everything in the 90s was extreme :cwink:

I'm willing to bet Marvels next big mutant event involves Scott Summers finding out he is his own grandfather through some time travel hi-jinks Back To The Future style :awesome:

Can't, his background is already iconic.

Only the ones with lose-ends background can have that kind of new event happened to them.

You hit that right on the head.

I can't believe Havok said the story wasn't bad.

I mean, I know I'm the harsh literary critic when it comes to these things, but good lord, you could paint a microwave with **** and it'd tell a better story than anything Kirkman did on Ultimate X-Men.

Cyclops is already leading so this leads me to beleive he wont be for much longer. Im guessing Magneto manages to sieze control

no Xavier? or Storm, of course.
It looks like Storm will be sitting Second Coming out

Magneto seizing control is kind of a no-brainer. I'm not saying that was his plan when he came to Utopia (Chuck's mind-rape would've revealed that), but I imagine it'll happen organically.

Blah. Magneto is so yesterday.

I'm not saying I won't like it if it's written fine, but c'mon, Morrison wrote the damn manifesto.

Right. Magneto and Charles are irrelevant. Their time has passed. The world has moved on, and it's taken a shape neither of them anticipated. Cyclops has done what neither man could do alone-- united all of mutantkind (granted, the population had to drop to roughly 200 to do it).

BUT it's not outside of Maggy's character to use his reputation and magnetic personality (sorry about that pun) to lure everyone to his side. Hell, Magneto might not even do it on purpose. I wouldn't be surprised if people just turned to him. If not for the history of mental instability and desire to place his own need of control above the wellbeing of his followers, Magneto would make one hell of a leader for Utopia. But what would he do with said power?

Magneto can be the leader for Utopia imo, I prefer Cyclops to be a more independant role doing the action and tactics.

The political stuff can be left to Charles and Erik.

I'd be fine with Cyclops heading all defense and military/X-Men actions, Magneto running Utopia domestically, and Charles working as an ambassador. Then everyone would be playing to their respective strengths.

Oh, and Emma can be the schoolmarm again. Just give her a co-headmaster/headmistress to keep her from screwing up.

How is leadership on Utopia even transferred? Is it democratic, or would Magneto have to engage in a coup or something to get power? I wouldn't like him ruling Utopia. He had Genosha, and now Utopia is an X-man country.

My money is on it being a lame teaser and Scott is in power just as he always was.

unless the X-force cover refers to Cyclops dying, Emma comforting Hope and Magneto uses teh turmoil to step up and lead. Nah, I know that wont happen

Why would Emma be comforting Hope if Cyclops died? She'd be comforting Hope if Cable died.

She should be comforting Scott if Cable died, I doubt Emma would show that much affection to a girl she barely had any emotional attachment with.

Yeah, but Scott "Wolverine, I want you to kill my son" Summers isn't exactly all that emotionally attached to Cable. Not like Hope is.

Well, that was a hard decision he thought he had to make, lack of communication between family can really cause troubles.

maybe if it was an accidental kill. Hope goes for Bishop and Cyclops gets hit in the process. Like I said, it most likely wont be happening. Id be surprised if Cable makes it out alive. The guy is old, barely has any powers, his series is ending....it seems as if he's a goner
