Comics Are you ready for the SECOND COMING of the Mutant Messiah?

I'm sure there can always be some contingency plan - such as him having his mind stored away like Tony Stark, so his genius could live on through the ages, and it takes the X-Club to successfully place him in the realm of the living again.

It still has Madison and Dr. Nemesis, though. I love those two.

Yea, I'm excited for this. Madison and Dr. Nemesis are two of my favorite additions to the X books over the last couple of years.

Heck, I'm even really enjoying having Rao in the books.

At least someone is finally addressing the fact that Rao is trying to restart a species she tried to end a few years ago (though probably only one year ago, from her perspective).

See I didn't care for her rather 'brief' appearance in Astonishing...but I love what they've done with her in X-Men now, and I really like that they are addressing this issue as well.

They need to get another brainiac type to fill out their club though. Maybe The Fixer, that would be pretty rad actually.

Beast
Dr. Nemesis
Madison
Dr. Rao
Fixer
Prodigy
Forge, if his insanity & death in Astonishing X-Men are effectively out of continuity

Archangel and Psylocke for added muscle

Make it happen, Marvel.

Ooh, good call on Prodigy. He may not be officially a mutant but they keep him around due to the fact that he is the collected knowledge of the entirety of the X-Men.

He would fit in incredibly well in the X-Club.

You're forgetting Dr. Cecilia Reyes. Throw her in there and it instantly becomes alot more appealing

I think if Beast does skip out on the X-Club, Prodigy or Dr Reyes would be great replacements. I believe Prodigy absorbed some of Hank's skills and knowledge over time, so it'd be an easy fix to that problem, and Reyes had worked with Beast in the past, so she could be written as having a similar thought process as him

Prodigy has the complete knowledge of Beast now, in fact of every mutant he came in contact with while a mutant, including Wolverine's fighting/samurai training.

The Cuckoos unlocked all of his stored knowledge a while back.

and its a shame he hasnt been used since. Aside from a few appearances in the background, he hasnt been used in combat since New Xmen

No, it pretty much seems like he is backround/intel anymore, as when he's shown it's just when Cyclops is using him to fix something or find info for them.

I know everybody here loves Cecilia Reyes, but she doesn't really have a place in the X-Club. They're a team of geneticists, physicists, and engineers. She's a surgeon. She would literally have nothing to do on that team until someone got injured.

where is the Maggot and Marrow love at? Sabra even!

She's a doctor and many doctors love research. Her medical career went down the drain when she was exposed as a mutant. The small clinic she set up after leaving the X-men has since been shut down. She really has nothing going for her right now. It would make sense for her to shift her goals and use her medical and scientific knowledge to get involved in this research project. She would fit perfectly with this group

thats a shame. she was my favorite OZT recruit. her crush on Cannonball, her admiration/jealously of Angel, she was a well-rounded character. then they had to go and ruin it when they beautified her.

Yea, I loved that era...and another aspect of Marrow I enjoyed was her stealing Pete's art because she loved how beautiful they were.

That was an awesome era.

i also enjoyed Marrow. i wish instead of having her undergo a beautification process, show that she had full control to retract the bones on her face herself but had no inclination to do so to please others and fit into their ideals of beauty. but they tainted her character...looking at you, Alan Davis

Yep making her beautiful all about ruined her character and everythign that made ehr appealing. She was often described as a female version of Wolverine. Imagine if they tried that crap on him

they did. especially after Hugh Jackman started playing him

Wolvie went from 5'3" and ugly to 6' and handsome. On a good day, someone draws him only 5'7".

maybe a bit in looks but his personality remained the same. What they did to Marrow was more than change her looks. I was fine with her new look, its the pretty girl personality that came along with it that was awful. She lost her edge, violent temper, and bad ass image as she turned into a novice X-kid reject. The equivlaent for Wovlerine would be to start writing him like Slipstream

We. Don't. Talk. About. Slipstream.

Not in defense of the character, mind you. I just want to forget he ever existed.
