I am absolutely, totally, sentimental that I've been called a pack rat (although I keep things in order, thank you very much.) I keep many things that hold precious memories. It's hard for me to just ... throw things that means something. Maybe I should not be putting too many meaning on too much things, eh?

I'm not really sentimental, but I am sensitive. I shed a tear every time a leaf falls from a tree.
I cry during episodes of Star Trek. Frequently.
Are we talking about Voyager here? Cause I used to cry during that show too. Then I realized I didn't need to suffer through the bad writing anymore and I stopped watching it.
You're saying that being neat, tidy and organized is influenced by nature rather than nurture? So, if a man is neat and tidy and organized he's... not manly? That's the woman part of you
How long have you had them? Do you put them in a box or ziploc bag and put a label with dates on them? I have folders and boxes for those 'sentimental' stuff and I'd have the date and a brief description of the 'event' that those stuff are linked to.Heck, I kept my old crayons and multiplication tables until recently, even though I hate math with a passion. So I cant judge.

Probably around 20 years. They are in a big ziplock bag...for the moment. I found out that a local bank recycles crayons so thats where they are going tomorrow. One one hand I hate to get rid if them, that why I picked out all of the oldest ones. (I remember the "new" crayons had a wipe away effect, the good old ones stained.) On the other hand, I never use them and if some good can come of them by recycling them, I'll do it.
As for being tidy equaling being "unmanly," thats just part of the debate over what is manly or effeminate. A co-worker told me I wasnt a man because I cut my sandwich in half. Meh, his breasts are bigger than most women's, so he's a little bit of a hypocrite.![]()
That's just not right man. Not right at all...
Thanks for the clarification of your thought. I am really not sure if that is the case. I think when it comes to habits, we are more... conditioned rather than that's who we are, by nature. I've no prove of this, of course, just my thought.yes and no. Yes, I think women are by their very nature more neat and tidy. No, I don't think that any man who is neat and tidy is not manly, I simply think he's been taught to not be such a slob. Most of the time. There are exceptions to every rule and I do believe that there are messy women and neat and tidy men by nature, but I'd say that's the minority.
What is the reason you kept those crayons for 20 years? Did you win some coloring contests with them?Probably around 20 years. They are in a big ziplock bag...for the moment. I hate it when people give me greeting cards because I hate to throw them away. It's like I don't care about the person who gave it to me, when in fact I do. My husband does most of the spring cleaning because I won't get rid of half of what he thinks should go.

I don't think you need to hang onto things to be sentimental. Mind you I do have lots of old photos and such.
