The Hype Religion Discussion and Debate thread!

With the old one closed, it was time for a new one but I think we need ground rules to keep this from becoming like the old thread.

When you come in this thread you are in total control of your actions. You should be capable of discussing religion like an adult, as numerous posters on the Hype do. If you are not, please leave.

Also, please remember your opinions are just opinion. They are not fact and do not state them as such.

Also, please remember that this thread is not the SHH Missionary thread. You are in this thread to discuss religion, not convert people to your way of thinking. Please be respectful of other's beliefs and do not try to force yours on them.

If you are not capable of this and come in here and say anything that our staff percieves as offensive to any religion (or lack of), creed, or orientation or as an attempt to bait others into saying things, you will be banned. If you cannot discuss religion like an adult do not come into this thread. Consider this your warning. You will not be given infractions and probations, you will be banned. Its that simple. Keep it civil, guys.

Hey Matt make a poll please. I think it would be cool to see the numbers of how many posters here believed in what. Make it public or private it really doesn't matter but I would like to see some ratios if that is alright.

Matt can you establish one more rule? Enforce that people state their opinions as opinions and not as fact.

So for example, no one should say anything like...hmm... "There is no god", or "Christians are delusional" or baiting types of statements like that. This thread should be used to discuss or debate your opinions, not act like you're just right and other people are blessed to hear what you have to say.

And if people of faith express that their salvation is fact? That the only way to Heaven is through Christ? Will they be infracted for "baiting"?

You keep adding restrictions. The only one that will work is the "no insulting" rule. But if you take out the debate as to whether something if fact or opinion then what the hell is this thread for?

Well I am non denominational Christian with a heavy background in science and a bachelor's to back it up...maybe even a masters soon! I think we are in a new age of Christianity as the newer generation coming into it is more educated and hopefully it will bring forth better ways of thinking.

I'm of the same beliefs (except I still I identify myself as Catholic though I try not to get bogged down in the denominations).
