Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5

So...it's a reboot? That's a dumb idea. The only two Terminator films that are done well are getting remade for today's audience. What could possibly go wrong?

I don't think it's a complete reboot. Also, Megan is awesome so I've got faith in her and her brother.

So the chances of Tom Cruise doing this jumped up to 0.01%. Awesome.

There really is no saving this franchise. T1 and T2 is what we got and we should just leave it at that.

Good efforts on trying but Cameron knew what he was doing.

I am another who prefers T3 to T4, they just got so much wrong with T4, the T-600's they gave us would have never passed as infiltration units even with human skin, never rubber, they were for too big.

In T1, Kyle says "you stay down by day, but at night you can move around, you still have to be careful though as HK's use infra-red."

The in T4, young Kyle says the complete opposite! Also, I liked Worthington's character in T4, but he didnt really have much of a purpose, and JC's role was written pretty poorly. McG should have been the last person to direct it. At least T3 didnt mess with the mythology, and with its ending, actually advanced the story a bit.

I just dont know were they could take a T5, I am a huge Terminator fan, especially of the first 2, but I think they messed the last movie a lot so not sure were they could go. The future provided in T4 wasnt what was envisioned in the first 3 movies at all, so a lot of repairing would need to be done and we would probably get another re-cast for JC which would be ridiculous.

I seriously just pretend like anything past Terminator 2 doesn't exist.

I also prefer T3 to T4. T4 is absolute crap. At least T3 still had some of the edge the first 2 did (though it was toned down). T4 just became loud and dumb and completely went against what was established in the franchise. I found Worthington to be boring, Skynet to be a moron, and Bale obviously did that movie for money because he had absolutely no passion in the movie at all, at least when the camera was rolling. Terrible, terrible, terrible film.

I agree with Spider-Fan as well. T4 was pure crap. Yes T3 had a lot of comedy that was unnecessary, and sometimes almost a parody, but still it was a lot better then TS. I felt everything about TS was a failure.

As a massive Terminator fan, I never thought I would want a reboot, but I sadly do. I think the story of Skynet is so powerful, and could be done so well, maybe it is time to re imagine it. I use to think it was nothing without Arnold, but I've changed my views on it. I think having a solid series lead into a good story of the rise of the machines and the following war would be great. To me T4 ruined it so bad, I don't want a T5 I would rather have a reboot because you know they are going to do something. With a great crew/writer/cast/director you can make anything good. So I hope that will be the case.

I haven't seen T4 or T3 in a while but I prefer T4 over T3. T3 literately was nothing (and just ripped off from T2) until we find out that Skynet was launched and starts the war. T4 was the war before the 2029 war. What I didn't like was the direction they went for T4 (which was McG's fault). I loved the production, action, and pretty much everyone was solid acting wise (with the exception of Bale for the most part). They can still go forward with T5 and maybe finally see that 2029/2030 war where we see time travel...maybe can pull a Star Trek on this series.

Oh come, Spider-Fan, I'm sure you heard the Baleout audio too so he did have passion. :o

I will never understand how people liked Salvation more than Rise Of The Machines.

We went back to the future instead of another chase in present time.

Christian Bale was badass as John Connor. A million times better choice playing a military leader than that pansy Nick Stahl.

Marcus Wright was an interesting character. I actually liked him better than Connor so that's saying a lot.

Bryce Howard was a better Katherine than Claire Danes.

Arnold's "cameo" was simply fantastic.

Michael Ironside.

Rise Of The Machines was not a good movie and the only reason IMO people like it so much is because Arnold was in it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

That's a good policy.

I do think a sequel could work. But it would have to be fairly different from what they've done.

Terminator 3 is a fairly good guide on what not to do for a sequel.

I think the reason I dislike Terminator 3 more than Salvation, is because 3 was following up on 2 which was a great film. It destroyed continuity. And it just wasn't a good film.

Terminator Salvation wasn't as bad, and anything that followed Rise of the Machines could only raise the bar for the series. And at least it tried something new.

I wouldn't mind a "Star Trek" style reboot for this series with time travel involved but a complete reboot altogether makes me sad. This franchise can move forward. I like T4 alot more than T3!

Too bad the cast of T4 can't come back if they're doing a reboot. I found Bale convincing and liked Howard a lot.

Also, John Connor in Terminator 3?

How is that ten year old John Connor in Terminator 2 was more of a badass?

Seriously, I can't believe the characterization fail. John Connor as an adult should be taking out Terminators with shotguns and pipe bombs.

In Terminator 3 he went from humanity's savior to Shia Labeouf.

T:S was one of the very few times where I didn't like Bale in a role. All he did was yell and be angry for a couple hours. Much more convincing than Nick Stahl though.

To be fair to Stahl, he didn't write the script. So, it's not entirely his fault that John Connor got turned into... that.

The TV Show really didn't do much better. They turned him into a whiner and a bit of a momma's boy.

Makes you wonder how many of them saw the second film.

Adult John Connor should be killing terminators singlehandedly.

I actually think T4 was better than T3. It tried to do it's own thing at least. Everything about T3 seemed like a pardoy of T2.

From the scene where he gets his outfit this time from a male exotic dancer to even the T-X vs the T-1000.

Terminator 3 had a few... good ideas.

The terminator being able to reprogram other terminators and robots was kind of cool.

And the T-X killing off John Connor's lieutenants one by one was actually... surprisingly smart writing (why did the T-1000 never think of that?).

Maybe In this one Arnald will likely play a A Cop or something that the first T-800 scanned and copied. Only the robot looks younger.

Yeah I don't want a complete reboot either, I was more thinking of the time travel aspect being introduced (fix all the errors that happened with the previous two films) and seeing the first T-800 being sent to 1984 while the war is happening in 2029. The sequel could easily take place in the following year in 2030 with T-1000 and T-800 being sent back.

Man, I gotta see how this works out. Arnold is just too old, plain and simple.

I'm a huge Terminator fan. But I don't know if I have any excitement left to muster up after the disappointments that was T3 and TS. I especially remember being so excited for Salvation.

Cameron's Terminator movies are both in my top 20 favorite movies. And it makes me sad that I don't get excited for T5 news. :(

Who's seen that new trailer with Arnold in it for his "come back movie"? The man can no longer play a Terminator.
