Kalogridis and Lussier to Write the New Terminator Movie

http://www.superherohype.com/news/a...and-lussier-to-write-the-new-terminator-movie

Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis are teaming up to script the next installment of The Terminator franchise, reports Deadline.

Lussier directed Drive Angry and My Bloody Valentine 3D and Kalogridis penned Shutter Island and did some script work on James Cameron's Avatar.

The new film is being spearheaded by Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures.

Lussier and Kalogridis were previously rebooting The Rifleman for television with a pilot to be directed by Chris Columbus. There has been no word on that in a while.

Why disappointed? Drive Angry was amazing.

Alright news,Not that great choices But not horrible either,I'm very curious how the story will end up and characters are included.

I have no excitement over this. I felt like this franchise should have ended at #2.

honestly, i would just prefer a sequel to Salvation. despite all the criticisms its received, i rather enjoyed it. and it'd be cool to see Bale alongside Arnold.

Yeah I liked Salvation as well, wouldn't mind the storyline continuing.

I didn't like Salvation, but I still like them to continue with that timeline. It's messed up enough as it is.

Salvation is utterly horrible, but luckily as nothing of note happened in it I don't see why a the fifth film can't take place afterward. With nothing to mention, the new film can go ahead unhindered and fans can accept/ignore Salvation as they please. The same can basically be said for T3 too.

For this film to be any good, the producers have to reject the allure of a franchise and just make the damn film everyone has wanted since the original: The Future War, The Destruction of Skynet and sending Reese back in time. Throw in Arnold as an aged Skyet test-subject and we have a movie.

Yeah. Termintator 3 was eh, but I think that's probably the best they can do in terms of new Terminator movies.

I thought Salvation was pretty rockin'. Especially compared to the truly dire T3.

No, Terminator 3 was BAD. It was like a ****ty remake of T2.

Salvation... I didn't hate it, but it was a disappointment. Showing the future of this universe should've been much more awesome.

The television series, honestly, was the best Terminator since T2.

I agree the only way I want Arnold in a Terminator movie is if his character is used as a template for the 101 model T-800 endoskeleton.

So a cgi arnold throughout the movie? Or an older version of arnold as a resistance soldier template?

+1000
Amen brother!

Very bad news. Laeta may have written Shutter Island, but she has a terrible track record throughout her career. And Lussier may have done Drive Angry, but his other efforts are bad and his style is the last thing the T-franchise needs.

Neither are a patch on the first two, but I prefer T3 over Salvation.

Agreed, T3 at least advanced the story. TS added some good ideas initially but they were pretty much dropped halfway through, not to mention they made some awful mistakes in TS against what was established in the first 2 movies.

Anyway, for T5, I actually wouldnt mind them continuing on from TS, Bale has the POTENTIAL to be an awesome John Connor if he is written correctly, and Arnold needs to return in some capacity.

Well, the main reason T5 is happening is Arnie, so...

Oh yeah most definitely. T3 has some big issues but I genuinely don't understand how franchise fans can enjoy Salvation. Aside from some small geeky moments, the whole film is a mess of stupidity and continuity destruction.
