Yeah, since The Stath has action covered (Not to mention Mark Wahlberg), maybe Arnold should move to horror?

He sort of did with End of Days . Perhaps The Tomb will do much better since it has Stallone and Arnold.

Watching the trailers it seems like the 80s /90s action is back. I saw the trailers for Parker w/Statham, Bullet to the Head w/ Stallone, and A Good Day to Die Hard w/ Bruce Willis. Also Snitch with The Rock and Jackie Chan has an action film that should be released in the US soon.

Says EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

When I say producer, I mean an actual producer credit.

Yeah I would go ahead and say that The Rock is today's action hero more than Statham. Rock has about 5 films that are being released this year alone and almost all of them are action films.

I was picturing Arnold in an Evil Dead type scenario where he's yelling and screaming in some cabin being chased by demons.

Yeah, not to mention of those are opening on the same weekend as each other, unlike Last Stand and Broken City.

Just trying to advise the money marks not to invest in flops ;) .

Why do you care about their money?,IF your against these movies then just ignore them&move on while letting the fans enjoy them

Because it's a movie discussion forum.

Why do people care about how John Carter was one of the biggest bombs ever? I don't know, but they did.

The way I see it. Vin Diesel is kind of the Stallone to The Rock's Arnold with Statham as their Willis.

I can see it too but still not sure about Vin, I'm trying to think of someone else who's sorta big as a action star.

I wish Tony Jaa&Donnie Yen would come to the US&go Hollywood to become the new Jet-Li&Jackie Chan

Yeah I can see that!

The Rock is a charismatic demi-God with an athletic background much like Arnold. Playing larger than life characters, often hamming it up.

Vin Diesel built himself up on two major franchise characters, one of whom he created himself much like Sly. Playing darker, sadder characters.

The Stath kind of stumbled into it with a sleeper hit, making more street level movies like Willis. He usually plays hitmen, much like Willis usually plays cops.

I could see Iko Uwais as the next Jackie Chan. He seems to be a friendly affable kind of guy like Chan.

Yeah I can definitely see Iko Uwais as the next Jackie.

Donnie Yen was in Blade 2 and Highlander: End Game. Unfortunately not much else in terms of his Hollywood work.

Jackie Chan had the charm as the goofy comic. Does Iko Uwais have something similar that can hook people.

Rock could be the next Arnold. He took some time off from action , but hopefully now he continues to do action. Statham's been holding the fort though.

Yes to this

Hey it's their money, they can do what they want with it. And then we end up with costly B-action movies like this.

It only cost me $8 , well worth it. The studio will make it's money back somehow.

not surprised this flopped just by trailers this movie looked mediocre and bland and who puts knoxville in this film what is it 2001?

stallone's bullet in the head looks much better

So an actor should only be in projects when there relevant and never hired again after that!?

It's that mentality that's a big reason for flops like films as these and not like film quality..Which got mixed reviews and not just all hate.

Your not surprised yet you didn't even see it and are judging the film based on trailers!?

It just feels like this these type of action movies don't appeal to the GA anymore the way they did back in the 80s and 90s. Excluding the Expendables which obviously had other factors in its favor.

People seem to be more in the fantasy/adventure action films such as superhero/comic, Pirates, etc.

Sad but true, I've been watching a lot of old action movies recently and I wish they weren't now relegated to either dvd or a quick rush through the cinema in either Jan/Feb or Sept/Oct.

The way I see it. Vin Diesel is kind of the Stallone to The Rock's Arnold with Statham as their Willis.

I can see the logic in your connections and maybe it's because I grew up with the older trio, but to me the trio of successors are a big step down.
