Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming back!!!

King Conan is another story that MUST be told!

Only if he is CGI'ed throughout the movie. His "cameo" in Salvation was freaking amazing!

That scene was TERRIBLE! As was the movie.

Arnold's big come back might be a Terminator movie ? Come the **** on

That CGI in that scene was TERRIBLE!

Fixed.:woot:

They had the right idea for that scene. Just badly executed by the CG department.

EDIT: Oh and will somebody please fix Arnie's name in the title. :O

I didn't mind the scene or CGI of Arnold in Salvation, but I was probably just excited to see an Arnold "cameo".

With that being said ... I don't know that we need anymore Arnold/Terminator movies. Probably best to move along to something else, if he's interested (bigger role in Expendables 2, please).

I get the feeling why all the action stars suddenly started signing onto new action films Sly with Headshot, Stath with Echelon, Bruce with Die Hard 5 (Not new but he suddenly started pushing the production) is to facilitate Arnold's return. So he can have his own comeback movie and then do Expendables 2.

so ILM didnt do the best CGI Arnold head that they could do?

just joking ;)

How about a modern day Terminator film, only this time Arnold plays a soldier. Perhaps the one Skynet used as a template for the skin overlay of the Terminators :P

Maybe he does play the soldier whom the terminator was modeled after. Even more, since there has already been four, we learn that that soldier the terminators were designed after actually was THE REAL John Connor!!!

I could live without Arnold being in another Terminator film, but it's cool if he returns for T5. I'm sure they'd use digital touch-ups in post-production to make him look more akin to how he did in T1/T2, seeing as he's aged a good deal since that time.

I'm hoping he'll be in The Expendables 2 for sure, as one of the leads. Seeing as he'll be free to do so now I have no doubt it'll happen.

That was ILM??:wow: I thought that was done by Sony Imageworks or something...I'm seriously disappointed.:csad: ILM does really good work throughout the whole series of movies.

I have no idea why they couldn't just modify the same head model of Arnie they used in T3 to work in Salvation. The cgi work in that scene is very hit or miss for me. Looks good in some angles/shots, glaringly awful in others.

Is no one else bothered that the thread title says Schwarzengegger instead Schwarzenegger?

In all fairness he often warned us he'd be back.

I wonder if he'll ever win a oscar. My guess is no, but i still wonder.

He will win one when the robots take over and make him their General.

because they wanted in Salvation Arnold to look like in 1984. like in the first movie. they modeled the head based on the first movie.

I agree. If you go back and pause during the first shot of his face and catch the parts where it's mostly dark except for the over-head light, the face actually looks fantastic. I think they messed up in shooting the scene in a bright fluorescent-lit room. If they had shot the scene in a darker setting, with a few well-placed lights, I think the result would have been much more impressive.

Thanks, Hob.

dark_b, I know they were gonna de-age him. I wasn't saying for them to reuse the exact same model from T3. Same base model but modifying the skin to look younger would've been better IMO.

Jackasscoley15, your post is right on the money.

Yeah I mean, I'd be excited to see what Justin Lin brought to the table for a 5th Terminator film (and I am just about Terminator-ed out). Would he bring Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson as an adversary? It could be interesting. Or it could suck, but hey at least it's a more interesting choice than McG or Johnathan Mostow.

I thought the Arnie cgi face looked great.

Same here. That was probably my fav part of the movie.

It wouldn't make any sense to have Arnold in a Terminator film at this point. They missed their opportunity to a make a good T3 while Arnold was still capable. I wish they had taken the approach of Salvation in that film....Future setting, but had Arnold as a resistance fighter. That would have been the best way to complete a trilogy and was the T3 I had always dreamed of up until they made that crappy "Talk to da 'and" movie. I at least give Salvation credit for trying to add something more to the story and beign in the proper mood of a Terminator film.

Dwayne Johnson should be the Terminator next.
