Arnold Schwarzenegger Returning For The Legend of Conan

I've read his book and every piece of info about when he started taking steroids, what source are you citing with this information? I'm just curious because that pic above of Arnold is an acheiveable physique without the inclusion of steroids.

Not at 19 it isn't and it's barely achievable naturally after many many year. I know about arnold's recent bio and he still hasn't fully admitted to the extent of his steroid use which was rampant during his bodybuilding days.

The man is a respected figure to a lot so it's hard for him to come out openly about steroid use as the public has a very negative connotation to it.

Again another pic of him at 19. This is not a natural physique at any age. I'm also not talking out of my ass either, fitness and lifting is one of my past-times.

You didn't answer my question, what source your citing for your information? Not to argue but I know a few younger guys with good genetics with a mesomorph build that are around that size that don't juice, it is possible.

thats a lot of muscle mass for 19. grrrr hard to say.

the problem is of course time. how much time did he need to get to that weight

He started lifting at 15 I believe that gives him 4 years, with good genetics it is possible.

Sources? Read any book about bodybuilding during that period and you'll how rampant roids like dbol were back then. Arnold admitted to roids in his new book but downplayed their effect to say it gave him the edge that a "good suntan" would. Which is underestimating their influence greatly.

Anyone who knows anything about what the body can put on naturally knows the difference between a natural physique and one attained with enhancers.

Like I said i'm not singling out Arnold just clearing up misconceptions that hurt people just trying to get big but can't understand why their working out hard as hell but don't look 1/10th the way arnold or other BB's did.

I won't continue this debate per it is highly off topic but almost any source regarding bodybuilding and steroids cites that it became relevant in the late 60's- 1970's. The obvious truth is you can be that big without steroids at a young age, it's not impossible and that's fact.

Listen I don't know what to say if you want to believe arnold got that big at 19 totally clean that's on you but to say it's a fact if far from the truth.

I hope we can get some other guys who know about fitness in to comment but like i said i study stuff like weight training and I know not just what my body but any human's body is capable of naturally and that isn't it.

Natural bodybuilders who spend years and years training don't put on as much sheer mass as arnie has there at 19.

Like I said I don't need to continue it here because we're not on the bodybuilding.com forums, I as well have studied fitness and bodybuilding for years, have been training for years and have read the encyclopedia of bodybuilding many times that Arnold himself wrote.

I don't need anyone else to really weigh in or try to tell me something I already know per it wouldn't change my opinion on the topic.

I eat lots of donuts and sugary sodas and other fatty foods and I detest exercise of all kinds. Just so people don't get the impression that everyone in this thread is a fitness expert.

He was roiding since his teen years in the 60's. This is him at 19 if you can believe it.

I'm not singling arnold out because everyone in bodybuilding took steroids at the time (and still do among other things) and he did put in a lot of hard work no doubt.

Oh yeah, definitely. Even though Arnold used steroids, I don't let that hurt his reputation. Steroids have a negative connotation as cheating for the uninformed. However, steroids aren't magic. Steroid users actually have to put in more time and work at the gym to benefit from it.

I've got no worries of Arnold pulling off King Conan. He looks great for 66 years old..

Except that Conan abdicated the throne way younger than that. LOL.

Well to be fair this Conan strayed from the REH version from the very beginning. I just look at him like an alternate universe Conan, or better yet just some other Hyborian Age guy, who also happens to be named Conan that lives in the same world and has similar adventures as the real Conan, Life of Brian-style.

You missed the LOL part then? I'm keenly aware of the difference between movie and book Conan.

It wouldn't be a Conan thread if there weren't post after post of debates about bodybuilding, steroids and REH purists pointing out how much is not being done according to cannon.

He's definitely a far ways away from that newspaper caricature.

Now, whose ass do I have to kiss to get Verhoeven behind the camera?

Let me know if you find out whose ass it is. We can double. I take left cheek, you take right cheek. I also have some lip balm and a Costco sized unit of Listerine for afterwards. With any luck it will be the hot demon witch chick from the first film.
