Might be funnier if I understood Spanish. Anyone know what the hell Arnold's supposed to be saying?

CROM , For the first time i pray to you , if you listen to me , give me vengeance...if not , go to hell.

Its Portuguese.

And its not funny (the text).

Arnie's "Legend Of Conan" Now A Trilogy?

By Garth Franklin Monday July 29th 2013 12:51PM
When it was announced, it was thought that Paradox Entertainment's upcoming "The Legend of Conan" would be a one-off. Fans would get to see Arnold Schwarzenegger returning as the now elderly Conan who sets out on one final quest while he still has the strength to lift a sword.
Now though, it seems it may not quite be the character's final outing. Paradox's CEO Fredrik Malmberg tells The Arnold Fans:
"We have a great story. This is a role that’s perfect for [Arnold] and he’s very involved with the whole Universal team.
Arnold has been very instrumental to bringing this together saying, 'We gotta make a good Conan!' I think if we do this right, we can do two more Conan movies right after.
I think Game Of Thrones also shows a huge interest in fantasy. I’m psyched about it."
Key team members behind the "Fast and Furious" franchise are involved in the "Conan" relaunch and the aim at present is to get the script into shape BEFORE attaching a director. Malmberg also spoke a bit about the story and its place in the timeline:
"The idea is that this takes place AFTER Conan has been king. But this is the legend of Conan where he has been gone and people say, 'do you remember the good ol' days when Conan was around?' And now it's time for him to come back.
In the stories and you can also see it when he's sitting on the thrown and the narration on that last scene of the movie..."with a troubled brow" ...you can tell he's not really happy being king. So, it's time for him to go out and do battle."

Firstly, Conan would make Drogo his *****.

Secondly, this is all very exciting and I really hope they get on with it soon.

Thirdly, VERHOEVEN DAMMIT! :cmad:

While I'm really interested in seeing Arnold reprise the role that made him a star, I don't know about Legend Of Conan being the start of a whole new trilogy. Due to his years away from the movie industry, and possibly away from the gym as well, I don't know if he can really crank out three more Conan films. Just making one is going to be challenging enough at this point in his career.

Well, his physical decline could work very well into the storyline. By the 3rd film he might even kick the bucket.

Crom... I seldom pray to you... I haven't the tongue for it... But grant me this one request... Grant me the director of FLESH AND BLOOD and TOTALL RECALL! And if you do not listen... DEN DA HELL VIT CHU!

Can a Conan film be great without Basil Poledouris?

He's actually been actively going to the gym and exercising on his old normal routine since he left office, but he's too old to ever get into the shape he was in pre-Governator.

Yeah, its unrealistic.

With a proper weight lifting routine, diet, and HGH and/or some other PEDs, he could get into the kind of shape you'd image Conan would be in if he were a 60+ year old man.

Seriously, what a flabbo.

60+ or not, the man has spent his entire life doing this ****, he can slide back into far superior shape than most of us could ever dream of but to act like he's supposed to somehow replicate his prime is ludicrous.

An older Arnold could still rock as Conan. Especially a grizzled and battle scared Conan. The real question is can the script and direction AND production design match what Milius and Stone did? Can it be as deep (yep, I typed that) and satisfying as the first Conan film? Destroyer always feels a lot less textured looking and cheap in comparison to the first film every time I see it. And lets not even get into how Mamoa's film looked only slightly better than your average SYFY movie of the week. (Which was a shame. I thought Mamoa had a good look and take on the character in his performance but was not well served by the script, the budget or his suporting cast.)

That's a shop. I've seen some of his recent work out vids and his arms and chest are no where that developed.

-edit- here's a pic of him from filming "escape plan".

Not bad for his age certainly but not sure if we'll be seeing any shirtless scenes from him any time soon?

What film? The last stand? Because there wasn't any scene of that.

it's a deleted scene, you can find it on youtube. But I too think Arnold is too much of a granpa to be Conan. I mean the guy can barely move without dislocating his hip! Ok, a bit mean but as I have stated before, Conan with an austrian accent doesn't really cut it for me.

Well, we had a pretty accurate book Conan but everyone whined about Momoa so we're back to Schwarzenegger's version. I am glad to finally get King Conan but I doubt it'll compare to the original and I'm absolutely certain they should be concentrating on making one good film instead of thinking $$$ trilogy $$$ already.

I'm also not the biggest fan of Paradox, which despite their claims of ownership of Conan has never actually been able to provide any actual evidence of such.

Actually, yes that is a physical decline for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Despite it probably still being in better shape than 95% of all other men his age and many younger, that's not his physical prime. Therefore, a decline.

That doesn't mean he can't still be an older, weaker Conan who can still kick serious ass. It just means he can't be the younger, stronger Conan who is 30-40 years younger.

That Arnold could be a great older Conan is not my big question mark. WILL he give a good performance is the big question. I will never mistake an Arnold performance for Daniel Day Lewis, but his early work shows a guy who was good at what he does. Post TRUE LIES though the man just startrd phoning it in and cashing the check big time. I would hope a return to THE character that made him would get his juices flowing again.

And yes... I AM AWARE NONE OF US WANT TO THINK ABOUT ARNIE'S JUICES FLOWING.

He's actually been actively going to the gym and exercising on his old normal routine since he left office, but he's too old to ever get into the shape he was in pre-Governator.

First of all, I was going by a picture I had seen of Arnold on vacation at the beach with his family. He was wearing a speedo, and all of his muscles had turned to flab. And the older you get, the harder it is to rebuild lost muscle tone.

Second, I'm not saying he hasn't returned to the gym since leaving office, but he wouldn't have to try and rebuild some semblance of his old physique had he maintained his exercise routine while he was in office, for fitness reasons if nothing else. Even if he had kept up with his exercise routine while in office, he wouldn't be in as good of shape as he was pre-office. Age catches up to everyone physically, no matter how physically fit they are. Just look at all the wrestlers who continued performing well past their prime like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Terry Funk. All look great for men their age, or men half their age, but none are in the shape they were in 30 years ago.

I'm just gonna have to wait and see I suppose.

With 'Legend of Conan' I would image he's going to wear armor anyway. A) Because he's a king and makes him more regal and B.) So he doesn't have to be shirtless.
