Yeah I don't think this movie is going to happen anymore.
You think a studio is going to sink another $200 million into a senior Arnold vanity project?
When push came to shove, Paramount opted to reboot Terminator instead of doing another sequel with Arnold.
$200 million? Probably not. That doesn't mean they won't invest $50 million for the project. The first movie only cost $16 million. Of course, Arnold wasn't as big of a star back then (it being his first major film and all), and inflation has gone up quite a bit since 1982 (I can remember when a copy of WWF Wrestling Magazine only cost $3, today it's called WWE and costs $12).
And don't forget, the first movie was totally epic. Even if it wasn't 100% true to the canon of the original stories, it still had an amazing feel to it. One that all attempts since have failed to capture. Destroyer and the 2011 snoozer may have had much larger budgets, but they failed to recapture that epic feelz. Hopefully someone at Paramount will understand that just throwing money at a project won't necessarily make it a better movie. That's something no one seems to understand anymore.
