Are there any artstyles that translate really well to cartoon movies? I though Cooke's would translate fairly well and it did in New Frontier. I think Kirby's art would work really well too and would love to see a New Gods or Eternals movie using his designs and art.

Anyone else?

Todd Nauck comes to mind

Amanda Conner's I feel would work well

They're just back-laced, apparently.

Drawing styles the easiest to adapt would be ones that feature mostly contour as opposed to interior detail, bolder lines and simplifications of body shapes and muscles. Off the top of my head, Ed McGuinness and Humberto Ramos come to mind.

Mike Mignola's style was copied fairly well in the Amazing Screw-On Head pilot.

Matt Wagner's style is fairly clean, his style would translate easily.

Same with Marcos Martin.

Sam Kieth's style was also captured well in MTV's Maxx series. Same with Jhonen Vasquez's in Invader Zim. It was cleaned up quite a bit, but the proportions of the character designs are classic Vasquez. Jim Woodring's Frank character has been animated by a bunch of Japanese animators.

Other artists' who would translate to animation easily:

Evan Dorkin's a No-Brainer.

Mike Allred.

Joe Mad's style was heavily influenced by anime, so...natch.

One of Jeff Smith's major influences is Walt Kelly, creator of Pogo (who looks like Bone) and former Disney animator.

Cory Walker's another artist whose style would be easy to adapt.

Same with Adrian Alphona's.

Jamie Hewlett's style has of course already been proven successful.

The Tick animated series didn't really try too hard to adapt Ben Englund's style (his bolder line work and use of black), which by the end of the book's run became cleaner and more stylized.

Chris Bachalo's less detail-loaded work would probably adapt well.

I could even see the NFB taking on Maus.

Call me crazy, but I can definately see an animated movie in Tim Sale's art style.

Yea I can see that too. Some of these would translate well, others look too detailed to work. Simple artwork works best.

Michael Avon Oeming's art would translate well, it's very Timm inspired anyway

The Powers dude? Yea his is pretty perfect for art. A Powers animated movie or HBO cartoon would be sweet. As would a live action.

Holy ****, what is that?! Is that going to be an actual show?
Psshhh I wish.

About the Fire and Ice thing, it's kinda like Ultimate Avengers in that it takes some things from the art source, but overall it doesn't look entirely faithful.
