Would anyone else really like to see DC Animated take on the Batman Beyond Hush mini-series? So far the story has been really well done and seems to be a good way to use Terry McGinnis whose Batman never received a proper conclussion or send off. Most other attempts to translate him into comics have failed, but this one is actually hitting all the right cords. I would love to see DC Animated do a take on this story. What does everyone else think? Should the DC Animated Films revive Batman Beyond?

Damn I thought this was a new animated movie being announced!

i'd love to see a new Batman Beyond animated film

yea any new batman beyond thing would be cool.

Terry got his send off in the Epilogue episode of Justice League Unlimited.

I've heard mixed things about the Batman Beyond mini, so I don't know about this idea. I'd love to see another Batman Beyond movie though.

Have you guys been reading Hush Beyond? Its actually a really good story and next month we will be introduced to the Beyond universe's [blackout]Dick Grayson[/blackout]

i haven't actually, but i'll definately check it out now

how many issues so far?

But that was terrible. The whole revelation that he was secretly Bruce's son, ugh. He deserves better. I've seen a lot of attempts to futurize our favorite heroes, stories like the Marvel 2099 series. And I can honestly say that Batman Beyond is one of the few attempts at this I've actually enjoyed. It is a loyal follow up that stays true to the source while advancing the mythologies and becoming its own story. Dini and Timm created something special when they made Batman Beyond and it would be ashame to let it just fade into obscurity.

Its actually not that bad. The only iffy part is the art work. All of the reviews that I've read have praised Beechan's writing, and rightfully so. The story is actually really good. You should give it a shot, Sage.

So far there are 3 issues, number 4 comes out in October. It is a 6 part series, however, DC has extended it from a mini-series to a regular run after the Hush Beyond story wraps up.

I also thought that. :csad:

Sorry. :(

I remember when Batman Beyond first premiered. I was so excited. I must have been in 8th grade at the time.

Sorry. :(

I find Hush Beyond to be rather average. I think that Beechen does a poor job in detailing the continuity of the mini. I feel that the drama could be better. And the art sucks.

Yea the art leaves alot to be desired for, but I am curious as to Hush is.

You think so? I think the drama is great, especially the stuff between Terry and Bruce. I'm not saying it is up there with classics like The Long Halloween or even the original Hush story, but I'm enjoying it.

I thought the revelation was kinda cool. And I agree that Batman Beyond is one of the better attempts at futurizing characters. I wish it had last longer as there were other avenues I would've loved to have seen explored.

I already plan to, as
I've got to know what happened to Dick Grayson.
:yay:

I also thought this was a DTV :(.

My insides started feeling like butterflies then when I clicked on the link :(.

Of course I'd love to see a DTV of it.

Bruce is just coming off as too much of a dick IMO. Saying how he's never happy until all crime is eradicated, developing the Bat-Wraiths, and saying how Terry does not sacrifice is him being selfish and unlikable. Bruce in the television show, while demanding, was not a selfish man.

And the continuity of the series just irritating. They take specific instances from the show (Return of the Joker, The Call, etc.) and yet they also take material from the comics (Cassandra Cain, Hush, Calendar Man, Signalman) which in the end make it feel like it doesn't jell well with either DCAU or DCU.

I think it reflects Bruces feeling of helplessness as he watches someone else fight his crusade for him. He's become obsessed with staying relevant and who can blame him?

Well, I think its just trying to mesh the two together. It can be done, with a little imagination.

:yay:

I see, well I hope you enjoy it. :woot:

I gotta wait until it hits TPB before I can read the Beyond mini. When I first heard about it, I was excited for it. Batman Beyond is one of my favorite animated shows ever, especially the first season. :D

I'm kinda disappointed to hear the artwork sucks though.

Art sucks, and i feel this story is doing exactly what the showrunners didnt want it to do. They are bringing in lots of old characters from the DCU and making them a relevant figure in the BB universe instead of using the created villians that Terry has already. I think the best part of BB was the originality. Sure they had Freeze and Superman but really over 3 seasons can you name any more major DCUA cameos other than them and Barbara. ROTJ is a special case.

Its Beechen. What did you expect?

Well Matt, read issue 4..

I hope there's a major turnaround in the next two issues of the mini-series, because I'm disappointed.
The revelation between what happened between Dick and Bruce was grating. It had nothing do with Barbara, but something else. Dick said he hated Bruce and the writer made it sound like Bruce was just completely, distant, and uncaring. That makes no sense to me.

Barbara in Batman Beyond didn't hate Bruce, she just didn't like how obsessed with his mission he had became and that he had become a lonely man. Even Tim didn't hate Bruce, just didn't had communication problems after Bruce retired him as Robin. He even had tried to patch things up with Bruce before and eventually they did.

Just underwhelmed by it.
