Asking someone to marry you

Holy crap Ahura, that is one amazing/romantic (and mega-expensive lol) proposal day. And I can officially say I have NEVER seen an engagement ring with that many diamonds in it. Wowza.

Feh. That table's not so big. Seriously though, it sounds amazing.

Thank you everybody for your well wishes and your compliments. Many of the ideas I applied, I took from this thread and therefore credit goes out to those few who came up with the ideas.

Regarding the ring, it is one larger daimond on top of several small ones and it was a perfect fit.

Regarding the rose petals, I asked for them but the hotel set them up while we were walking in the garden.

And Pickles, it was only as expensive as I could afford and at the end of the day it is something I hope to do only once in my life and therefore it deserved to be memorable.

I didn't mean expensive in a bad way. If you can afford it, then by all means, why NOT have that kind of romantic and elaborate proposal? lol

Good, people who do that are jackasses.

Here's a viewpoint to consider. Just the proposing makes the day more special than it would be. You really want to surprise her, don't do anything out of the ordinary that might raise suspicion, just let her believe it'll be just like any other day.
I for one think public proposals are romantic. :o You just have to take a chance and be fairly certain that she will say yes.

I am sorry if I made it sound like I was insulted. That was not my intention and again I thank you for your well wishes.

OT (sorta), but I was at the Jays/Red Sox game a week ago and there was the most akward public jumbotron proposal I'd ever seen. The woman said yes, but she totally looked like she wanted to strangle her boyfriend.

Haven't we been over this? I said NO!

And how rude of me. Congratulations Ahura Mazda. :)

Thank you!!!

And public proposals can be romantic if both parties want one.....but that is why each prosal is tailorred to the person you ask.
