Atheism: Love it or Leave it? - Part 3

I think the main crime, no matter what your belief, is feeling that people must be forced to believe the way you do. There is no belief system out there that does not have a-holes who feel the need to not only gain more people to their system of beliefs, but to do so through underhanded means. Athiests have some of the worst zealots in fact when it comes to this.

How exactly is encouraging people to form opinions based on actual observations and provable facts a "zealous" affair?

Atheism isn't a "system of belief". Its a false equivalency to equate Atheism as "just another religion". Its a tactic to muddy the water in a debate to make it seems as if one notion is the same as another when its not.

Freedom Of Religion should always be protected. I say this cause you know how people are...Just add a provision giving rights to people that are open to it (agnostics) & people who don't believe (Athiests). Then we can all be happy.

Also I had a daydream where Athiests & I...well a thought really, where I was like "let's go camping around the fire and tell ghost stories. But add lasers and laser tag to it." It was glorious. Also I'm weird like that.

^IDK... I still like governments that officially discourage the practice of religion. They don't have to be imprisoned, killed etc. it just doesn't give charity protection to religion institutions at all or allow for the construction of their buildsing. They can write anything they want about it though.

Oh....I dunno how I feel. Would people be allowed to wear jewelry still?

Soldiers Deck of Cards

This one is a admiral attempt at caring for US troops, but it can't be true when the back image the cards make was an intentionally faked photo during World War II to raise war bond sales, the Western calendar is originally Pagan and Greek/Roman, the 4 apostles are from the 12 Olympians, the Earth has not always had a concept of four seasons and that has changed over the evolution of the planet's orbit etc.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else here ever been called a heretic or some other nonsensical Christian insult?

Just one in the fact that the I'm not going to Heaven when the Rapture happens and going to be left behind when the Antichrist takes power. Usually I counter by saying neither are any Christians because the Book of Ezekiel talks about an invasion of Israel by the Persian Empire and the Book of Revelation basically is a demonizing of the Roman emperors, their military governors, and a warning that they will be judged by God with the same judgements that Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, and the rogue Jews were punished with in the Old Testament. Jesus was also supposed to come back from the heavens to rebuild a free kingdom of Israel and rule there forever as king and messiah.

In what way does this relate to Russia, China, the Arab nations, Iran, or a one world government when it directly relates to your ancestors the Romans?

I was told my soul was in trouble by a Jehovah's Witness because I'd had a kidney transplant.

I've been called a Blasphemer, Godless heathen, and been told "you got the devil in you boy".

Like music to my ears. :awesome:

Wow I cannot stand Alain de Botton. He almost comes across as a theist posing as an atheist.

He's the same ******* that wanted to spend millions on an atheist temple.

I think offense is just how you take it. I don't believe in the whole, "Sticks and stones" thing. If I were to say something about religion, and that person gets offended, then let them be offended. Besides, people overuse that word these days. I love how people accuse atheists as being arrogant or snobbish when they talk about their views. When at times, they are pointing out the hypocracies and illogic. It may come off as snobbish, but when you point something out reasonably they don't like to hear, it's just the way it comes off.

"What's arrogance when you're right?"

I forgot who said that, Some scientist, but I'll always remember that.

My religious views are in my sig. May the lord Nolan smite all of you atheists to hell.
