Damn. Someone has already said they've seen the X3 ad during BB on Channel Ten last night.

I have, and I screamed in excitement and shouted to the heavens that it was honest-to-god Xmen 3 that I was witnessing live on screen....!

Of course it always has to be at the most unexpected moment, but that's the beauty of it: after months of anticipation for the first drop of X3, it was a wait that I felt was though excruciating but worth it!

Although, I do wish it wasn't shown during BB, because it seems like they're targeting it at a very specific demographic...

Channel 7 seems more sophisticated with its strategies and I bet they work too.

Haven't seen much of the promos for the DaVinci Code yet, except the one billboard near Broadway, but I have also seen some ads and tie-ins, ie with The Great Outdoors and the controversy that is still rampant, in the newspapers and so forth.

It was always a given anyhow, seeing as it was a book first. The X3 phenomenon is a little more hard to crack, and gauge, perhaps even to the point of a little unpredictability.

Ahh, I was just watching The Great Outdoors last night. The answer was wine! :p I think.

Anyway, they should start promoting X3 more often. Da Vinci is frigging overshadowing it. :down

Hey during Prison Break tonight they had an edited TRAILER it ran for 1min i was shocked YAY and they had a promo for xmen 2 this sat with the end having before you see the premiere of xmen 3 watch the premiere of xmen 2 LOL! i would think advertising would be good Brett Ratner is an Exec. Producer of Prison Break.

Also my friend saw two huge billboards on the freeway going towards the city in melbourne over the westgate i have yet to see em but he said they looked really good.

You saw that, too? ;) Yeah, I nearly fell off my couch when it came on.

Also, it's been showing on Channel 9, as well as seeing some of the X3 bus billboards... Not too many, but any is good than less at all.

i am going 2 sydney next friday any things i need to look out for when i am there? any xmen stars perhaps hehe

hey seeing davinci code tonight ill tell ya if there is an xmen trailer LOL??

Just saw a X-men competion on Fox 8. Text your name and address to what I think is 1999FOX8 (went fast) to win a Philips entertainment system and Wolvie poster/cell thing. 50 movie passes for runners up. They showed bits of one of the TV spots under the detaills.

I also saw a huge billboard on the M5-just as it becomes the M7.

I just saw Spot 02 (I think. The one with Kitty rising from the ground, Angel flying, Jean saying the "Kill me" line) during Lost on Seven. Saw the same spot as well with Smallville on Ten and they did the "The program is brought to you by X-Men: The Last Stand".

do you know if any stars will come to the charity premiere next monday ? also been checking out Hungry Jacks and KFC for some toys but nothing is available yet. any news ?

Looks like you were right. Publicity was nothing compared to what they did for X2. All we saw was Da Vinci Code ads, and the box office reflected it:

X3 opening weekend: 6,689,428
Da Vinci opening weekend: 8,618,350

In fact Da Vinci's 2nd weekend was close to X3's opening: 4,245,701
