It's not THAT big of a spoiler.

Where did you find it Liam H?

But I am glad to see that Zuko is alive. I'm a little disappointed that his daughter is his heir since I wanted him to have a son named Iroh. Maybe he still does but the Fire Nation goes by equal primogeniture.

Apparently it was revealed on some interactive game on nick website. So if you avoid the fansites/twitter/etc. There's a chance you might not have found out. This statue was shown briefly in episode 3.

maybe his daughter's name is Irah. Wasn't the uncle Iroh's mother's name, hence his name being a male variation of it. like Azula was named afterher grandfather Azulon.

[BLACKOUT]Awesome. I thought that statue was of him.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]I believe her name was Illah. His daughter being named Irah is a possibility. It's not a big deal, just something I was hoping to see.[/BLACKOUT]

cool news about Zuko!! I hope we get to see him in the series.

Also, I wonder how big of a role his daughter will play. Is Mai her mother?

Does she take after her father and act as a force of good?

Or is she ruthless and ******* crazy like her Aunt Azula?

also, does anyone else think they are pushing the romance angle between Korra and Mako a little too soon? I mean......we're only 3 eps in and they just met!

It may be 3 episodes but it may be weeks or months in the series. I don't think it's being forced too, soon. Everything is pretty subtle so far. Aang and Katara felt much more forced, especially since they were only 10 and 12.

Well to be fair when they were in the gym in the beginning it gave the feeling that not much time has passed at all. It made it pretty obvious that Korra just wanted to jump Mako. I'm not bothered by it, find it pretty amusing. And I chalk it up to these guys are teenagers, hormones are rampant.

true.......but it just seems a bit too fast.........

although I'm sure there will be another guy to compete for her affection.......

Major Spoiler about a character (seriously do not read if you don't want to know like the guy below me):

So its been recently confirmed (last chance) [BLACKOUT]that Zuko is alive. 87 years old and traveling the world as an ambassador while handing the rule of the Fire Nation over to his daughter. You even see his statue in Republic City in this recent episode.[/BLACKOUT]

Sorry TheWiseGuy487, maybe I should've really emphasized how spoilery it was earlier.

It's okay. I may have overreacted a bit.

I try to avoid stuff like that, because I want to go in as fresh as possible, but I probably would have come across it sooner or later. In the grand scheme of this show's plot, that little piece of trivia probably doesn't make much of a difference.

I mean, when I found out Katara was alive before the episode actually aired, I was like, "Oh, that's neat." It wasn't this massive revelation that needed to be kept secret.

To anyone that is interested there's a podcast on this show called Republic City Dispatch being done by Devindra Hardawar (/Filmcast) Da7e and Matt Patches (Operation Kino). Pretty good listen, they've done the first three episodes already.

Anyone else surprised at the number of people that can bend lightning?

In the last series it seemed like a difficult skill to master.

It kind of bothers me that its not such a special skill anymore like metal bending. I mean when we go to a hospital we could be seeing the doctors/nurses blood bending.

I guess with the war over bending, during which was primarily used for military application, So there's more of a casual nature to learning bending, since you're not expecting to go into battle. so more practical uses have been thought up for it. lightning bending seems to like generating electricity, so yeah, I'd imagine they would start commission large scale training movements so more people can do the work to keep the city going.

I actually think it helps the plot a bit seeing as Amon is trying to reinforce this idea that Benders have grown far to strong and because of this are abusing this power to make those without bending abilities subservient.

I just caught the ending of this episode (cause my TV messed up and I didn't catch what they were saying), and his behavior did seem a little suspect. The fact that Tenzin mention that only the Avatar could spiritbend makes me wonder if he has some possible connection to Amon. Old acquaintances turned enemies? Who knows.

In his story (if it's true), he mentioned how his family were farmers, and that he was scarred by a firebender, hence why he wears a mask. Taking that into account, I've read The Promise comic, and part of that story deals with the Harmony Restoration Movement moving, even forcing, certain settlements back to their country of origin. However, some of the tribes were reluctant and even opposed to this, as shown with Zuko's confrontation with that one family.

What if his family was part of one of those settlements that resisted the Harmony Restoration Movement, the main purpose of which was supposed to bring balance to back to the world? It would certainly fit in with Amon's sentiment that bending doesn't bring balance and how it's been responsible for many wars throughout history.

Also, when he mentioned that he was scarred by firebender, it made me think that Zuko was somehow related to that incident in some way. I'm not saying it was Zuko himself, but maybe his actions sort of have an indirect effect on what happens to Amon. That part is probably a bit of a stretch, but it makes you wonder.

On top of that, I don't it's a coincidence that both Mako and Amon mentioned that both of their parents were attacked/killed by firebenders? Maybe there was some past event (the Harmony Restoration Movement) that caused this?
Those are some really good observations and theories there. Very possible.

I love coming into a thread filled with spoiler tags. Makes me salivate with anticipation.

Whoooo! I knew it! That's gonna kick so much ***! :D

This latest episode was very dark and Amon is terrifying. Great villain so far. The very fact that he can do what he does is so suspect and mysterious that it really sets the ball moving in this new series.

I love that you know who is still around! I can't wait to see what she/he looks like now!

Just saw the episode. Lance Henriksenn and Steve Blum are perfect for their roles. Now all we need is a Mark Hamill cameo!

Not likely, after all only Hama and Katara knew about this skill and its not practical for anything since it can only be used on nights with a full moon.

Lightning Bending on the other hand seemed like pretty common knowledge among Firebenders, it just required the right state of mind (or the absolute WRONG one if you count Azula).

I can imagine Waterbenders using plantbending for some horticultural activities.

Even though Amon is the bad guy, I feel like he might have a point about the regular folk being oppressed. Did you see how many people went to that rally?

I could see some of them are there purely out of irrational hatred/fear but with that many people, I feel like there could be legitimate grievances. Benders are special in the way that they have special powers that affords them opportunites that non benders may not have. I can see resentment being built after decades.

Very much so. I mean when you're a bender you'll be getting jobs from someone who can't. Much easier to join the police force if you can earth/metal bend. Or work at the power plant like Mako did when you can fire/lightning bend.

just curious......is Azula still alive in this series?

So far I like this show it has an interesting feel to it.
