Now I'm even more convinced

India sent an orbiter to Mars recently and the first few photos were just released in the last week. I was looking at them on a space site and noticed this one :

Turn it round, make it negative to enhance the edges of the continental areas ........... and notice any similarities to the Delos globe in the show? Granted they're at slightly different angles to each other, but I still think it's a significant similarity.

Wow you really have an amazing eye for this stuff. I find the theory to be very believable and it convinces me more than underwater theroy. BTW I just launched the board for the show, the link in the signature. Already love talking about this series so damn much I just couldn't help myself :)

It's pretty insane how passionate people already are getting about this show only two episodes into it.

Kudos to Nolan, Joy and Abrams for creating something that looks like it will make engaging discussion about sci-fi/AI themes part of our watercolor talk for the next 5 years or so (hopefully more!)

It's a good theory but [blackout]terraforming Mars would be no easy task and take a very long time to accomplish in under a century[/blackout]. Not saying it isn't true but if what century they say this takes place in holds up then it really pushes the boundaries even for this premise.

Then again if they can accomplish what we've seen already with the hosts then maybe they found some kind of way to bypass that problem.

Considering how insanely advanced the robots are (skin, blood, also they can drink liquids so I assume there is some sort of....system there) I'd buy it if they told me they terraformed it super fast :) Also Nolan wrote Interstellar so I assume he has some useful knowledge when it comes to space stuff

Some of the technology in Westworld reminded me a bit of one of Lisa Joy's script (Reminiscence) which I bet will gain even more interest given Westworld's success.

They don't have to have terraformed the entire planet, just enough for the park. Say 100km in every direction. Then gravity and oxygen and so on have to be taken into account. It's just a theory so who knows, but the humans in the show obviously have advanced technology so it wil be interesting to see just how advanced they are.

I really hope the cast stays. With the idea that Ford created all of this it would be weird if we saw other parks without his involvement...the show also isn't something like True Detective where you can just tell a different story in second season. It would also be fun seeing all those actors who play robots acting out their parts in totally different setting but still being very much the same character

Of course the title of the show itself poses a bit of problem to show a different world :funny:

They could have the show switch to other parks and further the underlying plot with those parks staff and projects then tie it all back together at the end. That way each season could focus on new characters and new locatioms. Or they could have the MiB moving on to another park to further continue on his journey.

Im wondering if each park is covering up a piece of the grand experiment. What that experiement is I have no clue, but I think each park is probably a front for a piece of the larger experiment or agenda. For example Westworld's purpose may be to test and study and further AI and what it means to be human. Another park's lower levels may study, test, and work on other things.

maybe something will physically happen to westworld (i.e. something in the environment or some bacteria outbreak) so they have to uproot all the hosts to a new location. then you can continue with the same cast but change the story/setting.

The show as of now makes it seem like there is just the one park and with Ford as the creator of it.

The movie from the get-go let it be known there were other parks.

It'd be weird if each park had its own Ford.

About Delos, in the movie it was the name of the company/amusement park or place where all the different worlds were. In the show it might just be an easter egg.

We are only two episodes in and so far they haven't given us much to go on with regards to other parks. It is possible Ford is part of a group with each member handling their own theme park. Or he has a more (obviously) personal interest in this one. The child version of himself or his son for instance. Or because this was the first theme park he created he holds it more dearly to himself.

They could also have some kind of "seasonal" rotation where they have one park open at a time during a set amount of time before rotating to a different one.

For a second there I thought Hemsworth the Elder was going to be the show's first real fatality tonight.

Oh my god, they killed Teddy!!! (Seriously, I just hope they continue to kill Teddy each episode)

Good stuff tonight. Delved into the creation of the park. Also interesting to see Ford's reaction to the one staffer covering up the host. Definitely a bit of a god complex going.

Interesting seeing how sleep mode keeps failing. The wood gatherer definitely knew what they were after.

I am wondering how much Dolores is playing Bernard.

Another stellar episode, this show is my new favorite. It's all dark and twisty. :p You don't know what is going to happen next.

So what song got an old timey cover this time?

The piano song sounded like a regular old western to me. If it was a real song, I didn't know it. :(

So, I got my own crazy theory...

I think the "Hosts" are Replicants, and this is Blade Runner. The "homage" with Orion got me, But the white innards was another homage that got me thinking it's not an homage. like this is 50 years deep into private uses of Replicants in an amusement park setting.

My brain (in a good way) hurts after tonight's episode. I definitely need to watch it more than once. :awesome:

Anyone else think Ford's comment on Bernard's son was strangely similar to his discussing of backstories with the hosts?

I mean, it could just be a way to show how distant Ford actually is, but still…

Yeah, something is off with that. Those flashes of memory doesn't exactly match up with Ford's description of beating disease.

bloody hell... that CGI for younger Hopkins...

now we know that the white hat dude is current timeline...

this show gets better & better...

Really enjoyed yesterday's episode. Has already become my favorite show on television.
