Bad Robot/Jonathan Nolan Bringing "Westworld" to HBO

There are also full-frontal naked men for those who are interested in that.

The writing is good and the visuals are even better. Everything in this series has been good. It is like Game of Thrones only less gory and gratuitous.

Maeve has continued to rule like a boss and as we have seen she is slowly going all Skynet.

Bernard's flash of Elise is also inconclusive. Whatever is going on with him it is obvious that Ford is keeping something from him.

The park is coming closer to the climatic slaughter from the movie I think. With everyone (host and guest) losing control it is only a matter of time before more blood is shed.

MIB is apparently a very important man out in the real world too. I do think the timeline theory is right more than ever.

Barely. The show has the same issue as GOT. None of the main men have even shown butt but 3 of the main girls have shown boobs and vagina. There's also barely been any penis shots despite the numerous boob ones (yes I've been keeping track....:sly:)

I was expecting Ford to replace Teresa with a robot.
I'm not surprised. Replacing her or any other living person they kill with a host is a little too easy from a writing perspective and a very risky within that world. What happens when these host replacements go home? They get into a car accident or have a malfunction and Ford's actions and secrets get ripped wide open. And Bernard is different because "Bernard" never existed in the first place and only exists within the walls of the company.

We got Odin, Valkyrie and Thor's brother in a scene together :cwink:
And yet there was a perfect opportunity to wipe her memory completely and the idiot tech geeks didn't do it. At worst, just effing shoot her. Done.

The meek tech guy who keeps helping Maeve is a naive idiot that is going to get a lot of people killed. Giving a super smart robot the ability to control her own and other robots is a bad idea.

To be honest none of the nudity is sexy it's all in such sterile environment and that orgy in Pariah was...something else :funny:

The multiple timelines theory is starting to make more and more sense. At first, I wasn't sure if that theory had any merit but these past couple episodes have plenty of evidence to support it.
That girl being in the park now and MIB recognizing her is probably the biggest clue that William is MIB imo.

I'm kinda surprised that so many people cite it as clue considering since she was greeting visitors she probably met a lot of them.

Bigger thing is imho the fact that Juliet is the name of William's fiancee and MiB's wife killed herself. Given this show references to Shakespeare... :)

I'm slowly loving this show. If it continues like this, it will easily become one of my favorites. Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris, dude...!!!

Got a feeling one of those two will die before the end of the season....

EDIT - I mean their characters, not the actors themselves

Well, one of them has been confirmed for season 2, and I doubt the other one will die. It is way too important for the story.

I can't see either one of them dying without a major shift in the story. If [blackout]Ford[/blackout] were dead then it would mean he is not behind whatever is going on or that what is happening is going to become uncontrollable. [blackout]MIB[/blackout] is already confirmed to return so there is no danger of his death unless [blackout]he turns out to be another Bernard[/blackout] which has been denied already.

Season 1 is said to be a prequel of sorts to the story they want to tell for the rest of the series, so who knows what will or could happen.

Unless there is a pretty significant time jump between season 1 and 2 (which is definitely a possibility) I'm not sure how else season 1 would be anymore a prequel compared to the season 1 of any other show?

Perhaps per Hale's stupid as hell plan

Abernathy gets unleashed outside?

They've already gone into why the techs haven't gone to higher ups. Felix hasn't because he wants to help her; Maeve is using his compassion to manipulate him. As for Sylvester, he actually did try to go to higher ups (twice now), but she's physically threatened him (twice) and is black mailing him (she knows he makes money on the side by giving employees access to shut off hosts for sex). Going to higher ups will get him fired and even sued for what he's done with the hosts and what they're doing with Maeve, so he's trying to keep the situation contained to protect himself while attempting to get through to Felix. Maeve is blackmailing and manipulating them both by feeding off of their weaknesses: Felix's compassion and Sylvester's fear.

Honestly, every single issue you've had with the storyline has been addressed. You're either not paying attention or ignoring them in order to complain. I don't know what else to tell ya.

Oh please, it's piss poor writing. The only reason Maeve is being able to do what she's able to do is because the writers couldn't figure out another way to move her story along in a credible way, not to mention she can simply be destroyed. That entire plot point undermines everything else good about the show. The problem is the show tries to make out like it's this super thought provoking story, and then relies on cheap shorts cuts like this to drive the narrative. And it's made worse because there are some basic logical flaws in it. You can't tell me there wasn't a course of action those two fools couldn't have taken to avoid this, hell, given the level of security in the place I find it hard to believe they would even be able to do something like they did and have no-one notice it. In any logical situation someone would tell the highers up, job be damned. I'm sorry, but this show isn't nearly as smart as it thinks it is.

Anything else to complain about besides "those two guys could have easily stopped Maeve" for a couple of weeks now? Or is that pretty much it?

I get Felix's motivations, but as for Sylvester... I don't know if it's the actor or what lines he was given, but it seems off to me.

Wow man, you've really got your pitchfork out for this show.

The allegories and metaphors for life in general make it smart enough. Not to mention the acting has been freaking superb - especially Bernard, Ford, and Maeve. You're simply fixating too much on those two butchers.

I find Felix and Sylvester stupid and infuriating too
If they're hosts being influenced by Arnold, it's semi-explainable (though that might feel cheap at this point)
I get the motivations, but yeah, there's a million ways they could be handling it differently

In general, if a robot with a super brain asks you to make it a genius capable of re-writing it's own programming, you say "Fuuuuuuuu- no!". I don't care how 'compassionate' you are.

That said, their stupidity isn't affecting my enjoyment of the rest of the show.. I pretty much just pretend the Maeve stuff isn't going on

It's not bad writing. Felix doesn't want to shut down Maeve. He thinks of her as a person. "She's awake... Alive."

Honestly, the guy may not have a lot going on in his life. He comments that he can't afford to go to Westworld (granted it's not cheap), and his only coworker we've seen is a dick who is ready to sell him out. In general Westworld doesn't seem like a very pleasant place to work.

If you're a drone working a ****** job, a robot revolution might not sound so bad if you're friends with the robot queen.

they had a break during the production. maybe they changed episodes for better and made some worse. the problem with Sylvester is that its not just one stupid decision. he is acting stupid now for 3 episodes. this is beyond IQ. he is acting like a worm.

My problem is that Maeve is potrayed like she is very smart. but she is not. Sylvester is so dumb. From a story point of view the tech guys are not a challenge to her. Every host(robot) could trick Sylvester.

I understand why other dont have a problem with this. everything else is SO good and Thandie Newton is giving an award performance.

I don't know about that. An android becomes sentient and shows interest in you. That's kind of an amazing development in a person's life. I can see how that would cloud your judgement and make you want to keep them alive. Even more so if he's attracted to her.

I know plenty of people who would take robot revolution over their day jobs.

That's true
but some sad-sack who would sell-out humanity cuz he got a robo-induced-***** doesn't make for the most compelling or likeable character to follow

Lol, I don't think these guys are supposed to be likable.
