Ed Brubaker writing a Patriot one-shot is a match made in Heaven (and not just any Heaven: Catholic Heaven). It's probably not possible, but I'd love to see Mike Perkins squeeze that into his schedule (I'd certainly prefer that to that "House of M: Avengers" miniseries.

The final issue that they don't have creators for yet is presumably about Kate and Cassie, since they're the only ones not mentioned. Whoever does that will have to deal with Cassie's drinking a dram of Traitorade.

Oh, they're not using the word "war"? I thought Marvel was making money out of using the word. So, since another Secret WAR would be kind repetitious (even for Marvel) I guess they preferred the word Invasion?

Bendis's ego just astounds me, does he really expect us to believe this has been in the works for 3 years

8 issues is far too long. It'll be typical Bendis. 6 issues of the heroes coming to terms with the threat. 7th issues the heroes will try and do something and fail miserably. 8th issue a deus ex machina character will arrive and save the day.

I hate this "death" stuff. I hated it when they insisted Reed Richards was dead for two years worth of comics, and i hate that they're doing it with Cap.

Well, at least you know Cap's far too big a character to stay dead indefinitely. Fans of less popular characters don't get the luxury of that assurance.

I'm looking forward to Secret Invasion. I'm sure at 8 issues with Bendis writing, it's probably at least 3 issues too long and it'll drag and meander pointlessly in some places, but the fact that Leinil Yu is drawing it means that it'll at least be on time and look spectacular. Maybe he'll even get an inker for this and all you uncultured boors can quit your whining about how scratchy his art is.
