The Dark Knight Rises Bane?

Exactly the response I was shooting for. No Bane, please. :word:

*phew* Okay, so we're in agreement that Juggernaught was ruined in X3. Good to know. :)

Really though, not to get further off topic, but looking back on it I'm quite glad I only saw X3 the one time. There were many, many things I hated about that movie, but the horrible injustice that was done to Juggernaught was probably at the top of the list. Really, one of my favorite characters from the comics. And they turned into a hairy midrift-bearing ****** who really played absolutely no role in the story whatsoever.

Aside from providing convenient ways of getting from room to room, and a laughably tasteless and inappropriate vocal outburst.

"I'm Bane, b!tch!!"

That's kind of how I feel about Bane, he was a "convenience" that the writers of Knightfall came up with because they didn't want to use one of the Rogue's gallery to break Bats. (God knows why) So, they came up with a drug abusing, Mexican wrestler wannabe. Eh.
Iliked the scene in BTAS when Batman drops the defeted Bane on the desk of the hood (I forget who) that hired him , and Batman says "Is this the best you can do?" Which I believe was a veiled insult by Timm et al, and sums up how I feel about the character.

Although the later episode "Over The Edge" was a great utilization of the Bane character. But I think he'd be silly in live acion, no matter how seriously you tried to portray him.

Bane is unlikely. I like him & all, but I just don't see Nolan & Co. taking him seriously enough to even consider him.

I have a feeling tha tthe Joker will be in the next two films, witha possible collaborator in the third.

It was Rupert Thorne, and I loved that scene too.

I never really had a problem with Bane "breaking" Batman, but he seemed to decuce Batman's identity WAY too easily, as have quite a few villains.

Bane was and could be again an excellent character. The only problems are:
a)it's hard to believe that a guy with such big muscles could actually have brains
and
b)there are few actors who could fill the muscle suit AND portray the genius behind the mask

Get past that and we may have a whole new franchise on our hands

Well, the first mistake would be a muscle suit.
He would have to really have that build, whoever they got to play him that is.

And not look like his arms were inflated w/water, like Jeep Swenson did.

Bane needs a redo people. He was turned into a bumbling sidekick in "Batman & Robin." He could've been a henchman for Thorne, or some mobboss, or something, but no Schumacher made him into a idiotic gorilla.

Let's get a Bane Batman will fear to go up against. Have him break the Bat, have him be a force to reckon with. That's the Bane I want. Not a Bane who acts stupefied all the time and talks like a two year-old learning new words.

I was hoping for something like they did in X3for juggs would be good for bane

I always invisioned Bane coming into Thorne's office with a trenchcoat and black ski mask on. Thorne looks at his men and laughs and asks, "This is the man whom you all agreed could kill Batman?"

Then Bane punches Thorne's desk splintering it into.

Thorne: I'm impressed. Do you got a name?

Bane: Bane. And it'll be the last name Batman remembers when he is lying in his own blood. Broken, humiliated, and at my feet.

Then of course when you cut to the fight just a black tanktop and jeans would be fine. He really doesn't have to wear an over-the-top colored costume. And he really doesn't need to wear a dog collar like he did in the latter episodes of "Batman: The Animated Series."

No, Bane doesn't need a redo. He, along with Killer Croc, the Ventriloquist, the Mad Hatter, Maxie Zeus, and many other Batman villains should just be kept off the big screen.

yeah, but they are good villians for his comics and cartoons

Meh...all of those except Zeus need to be in a movie. Sorry but that's how the spiral goes on. ;)

I think Bane is awesome and definately want him in the movies at some point. Hes not needed but he would be cool. I think his style is just what Nolan had in mind. It is not out of the question that a serious thriller deal with something out of the realm of believability like a super steroid.

Bane done right would be very cool. It would have to be another series of movies after Nolan though.

Actually, Bane fears Batman because Batman represents the frightening creature he saw in his vision after he was severely injured in prison. Bane knows that despite his great physical strength he cannot match the Batman's athletic ability and his fighting prowess which is why he would not face Batman until he was driven past the point of exhaustion.

I don't see Bane in a future Nolan Batman film.

Maybe someone else's. But if any guy plays Bane it's gotta be The Great Khali(wrestler). He's 7'3, 450lbs. He was in the Longest Yard for those of you who don't know him. And if he couldn't do the voice then they could easily dub in someone else's voice(particularly Benicio Del Toro's)

I think bane could make for a great character if done right, but not until the 4th film ( if it gets that far) at least.

Please, no Bane. He's a nice comics villain, but there's no friggin way he'd translate well on-screen.

this is what they'd have to figure out. bane could work as hired help by two-face or something along those lines, but doesn't really have the motivation of a main villain.

that said, i have always loved bane because it makes for some incredible fights since batman can't physically outperform him it adds a new dimension to what batman has to do to stop him.

of course, i'd rather see clayface first. :) but that's a little more comic booky and might not fit nolan's "realistic" approach

No Bane... I just can't see him fitting into Nolan's universe (or any Batman movie universe for that matter)

To be honest, I'd rather see a villain like Hush coming into the movies, somewhere along the line. His M.O. is a lot like Bane's (orchestrate an elaborate onslaught on Batman by all his prominent rogues, to keep Bats busy until the time is right to strike the final blow)... Plus, he has a more realistic costume and he's basically the Anti-Batman. A man utterly dedicated (physically, mentally, financially) to a single, albeit malevolent, goal.
