The article mentions they removed Tom Hardy's tattoos digitally, is that true? I Only knew they applied make-up to his arms (which gave him that weird acne like surface to his skin).

Yeah digitally and with makeup. This back acne wasn't makeup though... probably the side effects of whatever he took to bulk up so quickly:

I see, but I actually was not talking about the back acne, maybe I used the wrong word, but there are some scenes (specially the sewer fight with Batman) were you can see some kind of rash on Hardy's arms, I asumed that was make up.
