He was a troll, plain and simple, and I couldn't believe some of the veteran posters here who often sided with him and couldn't see that.

He'll be back under a different name, guaranteed.

I really don't see how he was more offensive than SofNascimento (who I think we know is the same as Zyrson?) The division between "troll who can be banned" and "poster who we're stuck with despite everyone hating" is complex at times.

When you are warned, infracted and probated multiple times in a short space of time and it's pretty much all you do while showing no signs of taking heed of the warnings, you tend to get broomed as a troll.

We have difficult and stubborn posters here, but even they have some other outlets and interests and find a line, as opposed to simply battering one subject to death with nothing but repetition of the same points.

That's what happens to the guy whose relatives die within a few months and he suddenly finds he is the recipient of numerous wills.

When someone is absolutely relentless about something to the point where they are constantly antagonizing other posters, I think they can easily be qualified as a troll. It's one thing to just be annoying and reiterate your opinion over and over despite it being an unpopular one. But when you are butting heads with other posters continuously and acting as if they are lesser because they don't agree with you, there's a problem.

That's how he was. If someone was pleased with WW's look and perplexed by his opinion which hinged upon Gal's "frail" physique, he'd automatically dismiss it as the "hive mind" of the Hype and other crap like that.

The thing that'll likely keep me from getting infractions is the ignore list. If I feel like a poster is going to continually piss me off or feel like a poster is trolling in a certain section just to get a rise out of the frequent posters there, I'll ban them to prevent myself from responding with something against forum rules. As of now, I've put 46 people on my ignore list, many who seem to be lurking trolls with low post counts or have high post counts in one section that are really positive and then go negative when they enter sections I frequent.

I love the ignore feature. Best thing ever.

The only downside is you can still see the post and it says so and so is on your ignore list. I wish you could just block them out completely.

I don't think a negative opinion of a project is wrong, bad, etc...I think it is needed in good, solid, relevant debate and discussion. Same goes for positive opinions....

The problem is not necessarily that one is negative, and one is positive all of the time....it is HOW those opinions are given.[...]

NOW, if you like absolutely nothing about a project that is coming out including, script, artwork, actors, director, producer, etc....then yes, I would wonder why you are consistently wasting your time in a particular forum.

I have no problems with different views and opinions in the forum, but as Kelly pointed out, it's how they express their opinions that makes me think they're trolls. So far, as the recent bans reveal, they must be.

Generally when someone begins their post with sweeping generalizations and fallacious arguments in order to get a rise out of people, I really think they're just trolling.

Also, if you hate something so much, why are you in that thread or even create a special thread for your hate? I don't get it.

I've honestly never used the ignore features in all my time here. I just literally ignore the people I need to, but sometimes I get a kick out of the ridiculousness they spew and other times I choose to address them. I also find some people to be fascinating, the way then can be relentlessly negative/positive or have certain agendas around the forums.

I've definitely considered putting people on my ignore list recently and might have to start sooner or later.
