The minimum level of quality should at least be on par with the first Mortal Kombat Movie. That really shouldn't be much to ask for.

What do we think of jet li as Ryu? Needs to be taller, younger?

I just hope that the guy who'll be in charge for this does his homework and researches some of the comics and the Anime. Just because this will be a Video game based Movie, that doesn't mean they can't be bothered to do it right.

Mortal Kombat is a good example of how a Movie based on a fighting game can turned out pretty decent. Dead or Alive is the perfect example of how a Movie can turn into a total disaster.

the dude did Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Doom...

...if those are anything to judge by, this movie will be all style...no substance.
