BATMAN (1989): LIMITED EDITION: 2 CD-SET (Expanded Archival Collection)

Just ordered mine and now....the wait :csad:

I have no idea though what the third and last WB title is, but I don't think it's non-Batman related. But I could be wrong.

I'm guessing it's Shirley Walker's Flash TV series score which is offered with the BATMAN score at a sale price. I'm actually interested in that but couldn't order it with the BATMAN score. Just wasn't able to spend the $50 it would've taken today since I got other stuff on my plate. But I do plan on buying it even though I will no longer get it for 19.98 and more than likely it will be 29 and change.

I want to buy this, but think it's rather expensive, $30 + shipping & handling is a bit too much. Especially considering that they're selling a disc that most fans already own. They should have the option of either the 2-disc or just the disc with the original recording.

I lost my copy of the original score album a couple years back and never re bought it so this worked out for me but I do agree with the bold though. I still own the BR score though so I wonder if the packaging will be similar with that release if it is then I will have to double dip cause I really want ALL the music from that movie.

Eh? The listing clearly describes a new master.

I ordered my copy today. Can't wait for the Returns release.

Does anyone think they'll be doing the same with Begins and The Dark Knight? They've covered most of the Batman groundwork already, including the Animated Series. Begins and The Dark Knight would only make sense.

TDK already had a "complete score" release. BB hasn't, though.

Yeah, I have the TDK one. I'd looooove a Returns one though.

Sounds neat, but I wouldn't buy it. The only time I listen to my score is when I read my BATMAN Comics, and when I'm driving,(yes I pretend I'm in the BATMOBILE.) :woot: I'm happy with the soundtrack I have.
:pal:

Got my copy in today. So much better than the original release. Can't wait for Returns now.

Woo Hoo!!!

I'm satisfied with it overall, even though it has a few sound errors and the CD artwork is really underwhelming.

I'm curious about that, since I'm going to bed I'll keep that in mind when I listen to it tomorrow.

My only complaint with the album is how they chose to end "Joker Flies to Gotham/Batwing I." It builds up into this great big thing and then... nothing.

Most of them aren't major. Some of the sources that they pulled to get the music for this album weren't very good, as they just weren't recorded and preserved very well. This results in some abnormal hiss in several tracks, though it isn't a big deal and there was nothing they could do about it. The only one that actually bothers me is the clipping in the Main Title track. That just about ruins the build-up of the piece.

As somewhat of an audiophile this is disappointing to hear cause subtle details like that tend to bother me as well. However considering the age of these tracks now and how long they've been lingering around catching dust it is indeed understandable. Thanks for the fill in now I won't be completely caught off guard when I listen to it in a few.

I must admit I only own about 6 Elfman soundtracks and Batman is not one of them :(

Maybe it's time I cut a deal and grease 'em now.

No problem.

By the way I've heard through the grapevine that Batman Returns is due out for October and won't include the previously released OST on the second disc like this one did (instead it'll just be the full score on both discs).

I got mine a few days ago. Overall I am happy with it. Although I am a bit disappointed with the CD labels.

I like the alternate tracks, and I must say some of them sound really odd with some of the instrument choices like track 21 CD 2 Batman to the rescue (alt)

By the way, any one hear the end to disk 2 track 29-Main Title (more piano). Awesome.

Also, anyone notice that in the original soundtrack release track two "Roof Fight" (know as "02-Family_First Batman_Roof" on disk one) has piano at the end of it were as "Family_First Batman_Roof" and the scene in the movie does not.

I like all the effort that La La Land Records puts into this, but they over-charge way too much.
