Batman and Harley Quinn - Based on Original Story by Bruce Timm

I really don't care for Harley's voice. But everything else looks great.

Yeah I'm surprised by the negativity I've seen from other sites for this movie.

This looks like a lot of fun.

I'm really not too sure about this one. Not liking what I've seen so far, and the DCAU is my favorite piece of DC media.

What have you seen that you don't like?

For me I don't like the animation with the type of writing they went for.

The animation was so pure back in the day, this looks like it crosses a lot of lines and almost a little too derogatory.

What have you seen that you don't like?
The tone, the humor, the animation, Harley's voice, Floronic Man's voice, and what I've seen of the story. None of it is working for me, but we'll wait and see, it might be great.

Good lord, Harley's voice. This is what happens when you go for a celebrity, instead of a proper voice actor.

IDK what to think of this movie....

I'm more interested in what movies will be coming next after this one. Any ideas what or when?

Guess people are here for the [blackout]Swamp Thing[/blackout] news.

That clip is great. Would love to see Constantine and Swamp Thing in the DCAU. This is a perfect oppprtunity to intro characters that never made it into the DCAU before. Would love to see the DCAU Titans. They were confirmed to exist in a Static episode

Wasn't a fan of that trailer. I think it was just Harley's voice and the way it was cut

Looks great but why not use the original Batman TAS art style? Then they would get even more people excited because of nostalgia. They use the original Batmobile too.

BURBANK, CA (May 30, 2017) — A looming global catastrophe forces Batman and Nightwing to partner with an unlikely hero in Batman and Harley Quinn, the next entry in the popular series of DC Universe Original Movies. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, the all-new, feature-length animated film arrives August 15 on Digital and August 29 on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Deluxe Giftset, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD.

Spawned from an original story by animation icon Bruce Timm, Batman and Harley Quinn will be available in several popular formats as the first Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack ($44.98 SRP) release of a DC Universe Original Movie; Blu-ray Deluxe Giftset ($39.99 SRP), featuring an exclusive Harley Quinn figurine; Blu-ray Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP); DVD ($19.98 SRP); and Digital ($19.99 HD, $14.99 SD). In Batman and Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue (a.k.a. The Floronic Man) embark on an ecological quest to save the planet – and, unfortunately, eliminate most of humankind along the way. To save humanity, Batman and Nightwing are forced to enlist Harley Quinn to catch Poison Ivy, Harley’s BFF and frequent partner-in-crime. But Batman’s patience is put to the test by the unpredictable and untrustworthy Harley during the twists and turns the reluctant companions face during their bumpy road trip. The result is a thrill ride of action, adventure and comedy no Batman fan has seen before.

The latest DC animated film features a stellar voice cast led by Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) reprising his role as the Dark Knight, alongside Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory) making her debut as the irrepressible Harley Quinn. Loren Lester, the voice of Robin in Batman: The Animated Series, returns as Nightwing. Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show) provide the voices of the villainous duo Poison Ivy & Jason Woodrue, respectively.

Sam Liu (Batman: The Killing Joke) directed from an original story by Bruce Timm (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) with a teleplay written by Timm & Jim Krieg (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox). Co-Producer is Alan Burnett (The Batman). Executive Producers are Sam Register and Bruce Timm. Benjamin Melniker and Michael Uslan are Executive Producers.

“In this all-new movie, we give Harley Quinn the starring role she deserves as she partners with Batman and Nightwing to save the day,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Vice President, Family & Animation Marketing. “We are thrilled to showcase the latest story from the remarkable mind of Bruce Timm for all fans to enjoy.”

AN ANIMATED NEW COMIC FOR HARLEY QUINN AND HER BEST PAL…BATMAN
It’s the team-up we’ve been dreaming of as the cute psychopath Harley Quinn joins the brooding Dark Knight for a brand-new Digital First comic series, HARLEY QUINN AND BATMAN. The series, from Batman: The Animated Series writer Ty Templeton and artist Rick Burchett, is an exciting new five-chapter prequel adventure to the Batman And Harley Quinn animated film coming out this August from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
The digital series will launch Monday, July 31, with the five chapters being released bi-weekly.

But wait! Where’s the sequel?

Beginning in October, seven sequel chapters will be released digitally each week, and to make it extra-crazy, we flipped the names! BATMAN AND HARLEY QUINN is a collection of stories tied to the events of the film. These chapters will feature stories and art by Jeff Parker, Craig Rousseau, Luciano Vecchio, Amanda Deibert, David Hahn, Dario Brizuela, Matthew Dow Smith, Sandy Jarrell, Ty Templeton and more.

All 12 chapters will be collected in trade paperback in summer 2018. Digital chapters will be available for download beginning July 31 via the DC Comics App, readdcentertainment.com, iBooks, comiXology.com, Google Play, Kindle Store and Nook Store.

I have a feeling this movie won't help Bruce Timm's reputation with the online community:

Maybe I'm in minority, but I always liked erotic tease in Timm's work. Especially in his illustrations, comic books and sketches.

I know, I know, it's kids material for the most part and it's not appropriate, not to mention, it can easily degrade a character... But I can't help but like this kind of stuff.

That being said, I didn't like it in The Killing Joke.

Got a question: is this gonna be like Assault on Arkham, where Batman was in the title but it was really a Suicide Squad movie? Or is this actually gonna be a team-up with him and Harley?

I assume more Harley and Poison Ivy screentime.

Eh. I hated the subplot they injected into The Killing Joke, but if this is just a few seconds of sight gag, as I assume it is, I don't see harm. It's certainly a weird little fixation, though.

I can see the issues here. It is coming off a bit fan service-y, like Deviant Art and Tumblr: The Movie. I want to like this really badly but the more we see, the more it feels like fanfiction.
