Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 1

I hope they keep it up with the prequels and spin-offs. I love Origin's story the most, and want to see Montreal's take on Batman meeting Ra's for the first time. And hopefully that Suicide Squad game is happening. And lastly, I need a Beyond game.

As for this being the last Arkham game, id be surprised. The sales overall for the series have been close to 20 million and I doubt WB is ready to hop off that gravy train.
Better end it on a high note, than to drag what's left of it like a rag doll

Arkhamverse was always pretty unique case, especially since things always change all the time in the comics medium. With dumb Bane as a good example, Hugo Strange as Ras' al Ghul's pupil, and the list goes on.

Dumb Bane was a case long before the Arkhamverse. A lot of writers often forget how intelligent Bane is supposed to be. Heck, Dini first did dumb Bane all the way back in the 90's :oldrazz: :argh:.

As for Strange and Ra's, I got the impression all of their previous history with Batman already happened individually. Even then, that's kinda irrelevant to my point. Ra's and Strange could team up tomorrow in the comics. That's what I meant. Save for Damian being Robin and a few other things, it felt like these events could have happened in the "the next story arc" in the comics, at least Pre-New 52. When you read the character bios in AA/AC, you weren't sure if those were just their comic book bios or if everything listed in them actually happened in the Arkhamverse or both. I loved that intentional ambiguity that has been kinda dropped ever since they started filling the gaps in with all the tie-in comics, the other games/DLC's, the upcoming animated film, etc.

No it's was like that show prison break and they were stuck in a rut there cause they went back to the prison part story wise in nother area/ form on occasion once most of the main characters were out trying to clear their names. After you break out it's time to find another name title wise and tell a story of being on the run like the fugitive's not stay with that title. Half the time that series was losing it's self cause of that. And it can happen here too. time to move on where batman is concerned with the sequels minus origins

And im telling you WB doesnt care. They don't see any story implications with keeping "Arkham" in the name. Back when Call of Duty 5 was coming out, IW wanted to drop the CoD name and just call it Modern Warfare 2 but Activision balked because they felt the name CoD was too important. The same could easily happen here. If WB feels the "Arkham" name is still strong, they'll use it, regardless of story.

LOL, i agree, but this is the video game industry. Rarely do publishers allow something to go out on a high note, they milk it until the profits dry up. Im not tired of Batman games yet(don't think ill ever be) so im fine with more and more and more Bat games. Assuming they keep the quality they've had over the last 3 games.

I think the team at WB shot themselves in the foot by making Origins take place too close to Asylum. I mean i guess they could always go back on their orig timeline, but they didnt leave themselves much room to work with.

That too I wanna see Bruce Wayne/Batman meeting Harvey Dent/Two-Face in the prequels in Origins "Harvey Dent elected Gotham DA" in a newspaper headline and that was it.

The good thing is that there aren't any hard dates in the games. So they can change they timeline if they choose to.

Agreed. Theres tons of potential first meet ups that id love to see. Again tho, WBM didnt leave much space for that assuming they adhere to their timeline

Yea thats what i was thinking. They claimed it was what 2 years prior? But i don't think anything in the game stated that. Hell if the next game takes place "sometime" before Asylum, im fine with that. I don't need anything specific.

I think they actually said 5 years. But that's still too little time for all the stuff that is supposed to happen.

Ah, well thats better than what i was thinking. Maybe this is just a really condensed period for Bats, hah, lots of villains popping up and what not.

If I worked for WB, I would encourage more developers to make games based on other DC properties with the same level of quality as the Arkham games. I think that would help keep things fresh even if we do get a game every year. A Suicide Squad game is a great place to start.

I need someone to make a proper Green Lantern game. I wonder what that Suicide Squad game would be like, if it were made. Would be great if they could mix the Arkham Games with Hitman.

In Arhamverse Dent gets no love in AC he was second fiddle only for stealing Catwoman's jewels. In AA he has a cell which he isn't in then he breaks the second National Bank Of Gotham end of the game. I hope in AK or the future they will give a treat he deserves maybe what he needs now. :woot:

Companies tend to shy away from risk, especially in the video game industry, but i agree, id love to see WB really expand on DC properties. Same goes for Disney and Marvel. I hope now that Disney is getting all these licenses back that they make good use of em.

Almost like Resident Evil :cmad:
I hope Rocksteady stay true to their word

Here's the trick question though. Where would you go with Batman after this? Since this game's open world will be full Gotham, where do you go after that and still have it be a Batman game as we know it? Do you go full Gotham again? Same map, same everything, but just different story?

Unless you do Batman Beyond (which would be awesome :woot:), you can't go bigger without crossing into JL/DCU territory. At least with franchises like GTA and Assassin's Creed, you can get a different location everytime.

If we're strictly talking story, I have to say I'm looking forward a lot more to WB Montreal's next game. Characters like Two-Face and Ra's, who were basically wasted in the games, could finally be done justice. We'd see the beginning of Batman taking Dick under his wing and eventually Jason's death at the hands of Joker. But talking of Joker, I hope the next two games will be Joker free. He's dead in Rocksteady's sequel, and he should remain in Arkham during WB Montreal's first sequel.

I'm hoping for better writing this time around with Dini being gone. Hopefully they got video game writers with experience in the game medium, much like AO did.

If WB Montreal uses Rocksteady's assets again, I would totally bring Gotham back, but also design a story, that takes Batman to different places. Like Nanda Parbat and Metropolis. Batman has no jurisdiction, so I would like him to follow some of his villains, if he knows they are up to no good.

Unless you do Batman Beyond (which would be awesome :woot:)

I'd easily take a Batman Beyond game over another Arkham sequel.

Speaking of Two-Face, I hope he has a major and great role in this game.

The design of this city will have certain differences compared to LEGO Batman 2, they can think of something
