Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 1

Isn't the geometry of the different batmobiles totally different? Reskinning would be horrible. They'd have to redo each from wireframe stage, and that's only if there are no challenges/sections/paths where the AK batmobile can barely fit through, in which a bigger batmobile will cause a glitch. Its kind of like asking for the batman beyond skin to have the batman beyond build and wings, but, like ten of those guys. No mean feat. Not like a skin at all.

Now I think I prefer the Bale suit to the one in the game
Game version has the better looking cowl
So you like bat-bra more? TDK suit is atrocious. But it has a few innovative elements, like neck. Rocksteady improved the armor on all accounts.

Yep I prefer the AA/City Batsuits over TDK/R. I wish next filmakers went that kind of approach.

Guess we'll see if snyder and co. went that direction or not.

If Snyder won't drop the armored batsuit, I fear no one ever will. Though based on Kevin Smith's comments, it looks like he did.

Although I think Rocksteady's suit looks badass (probably the only time Batman has looked cool in armor), I still resent the idea of them taking that route. It only adds more fuel to the current mainstream misconception that Batman needs armor to be Batman, and keeps that misconception going.

It's just nuts IMO. Even in the era where we have non-armored protection suits that don't weigh people down and where we are embracing comic-accurate suits more than ever before, we still have Batman covered in almost Iron Man-looking armor.

I wish I didn't read the first half of this post
Shoulder padding look better in the Bale suit

I wish they keep going with the armor for movies, I like the idea more

The only armor I want to see in the movies from now on is something inspired by new 52.

I much preferred the Batman and Robin Batmobile to the Batman Forever Batmobile
I think it was much better in Forever. They should have used this again:

The BF car would have been so much better with out the wing on the back and no neon lights

The Batmobile from the 89 film is still the best looking Batmobile, period

Yes it would have to be much more than just a skin, which is why i very much doubt that will be an option.

A skin is pretty much just a glorified paint job on a pre-set character model, the batmobiles vary in shape and size so much that wouldn't be possible.

You couldn't just do this for all the different batmobiles:

Didn't you just show it's possible to have slight variances in models? The DKR model in particular is clearly heftier and wider than the other skins, but that didn't seem to pose a problem.

While I don't think it will be as simple as a skin job, the Batmobile being such a heavy component in the campaign screams for DLC to match.

I actully like this Batmobile, I don't understand why this gets stick... Its not bad as some make it out to be. B&R one is horrible but I can understand why they like it is all opinion.

It's a big neon penis with the most stupid overly huge fin on the back. Love the Burtonmobile but I put it behind Tumbler and TAS for me

The TAS Batmobile is my favorite. I love how ridiculously long it was. :woot:

The differences between the DKR model and the basic suit would be absolutely minuscule between the size and shape variations of different batmobiles.

They would be about as different as the batjet model from the batmobile model.

Not to mention they would have to take into consideration for how the different batmobiles would interact with the game environment. The game world was tailor made to fit this specific batmobile.

Rocksteady talked about how they tested dropping in the batmobile model into the AC game environment and it was not compatible at all, so they wokred on building a game world that would fit the batmobile and its movement.

Tumber, while looking impressive, didn't feel like Batman's ride at all.

Yeah it did. Reminded me of his ride in Dark Knight Returns. I'm delighted they're using the Tumbler design for the Batmobile in this.

The hard part in integrating the city to the car's abilities is already done. Now it's just a matter of implementing a different base model and perhaps showcasing the same/different functionalities.

Again I don't expect this to be a skin job. But I'm not seeing how they would have to do immense work (in terms of city design and gameplay) to fit in a different Batmobile if they wanted to.

The Tumbler gets points for looking unique, though I did think it lacked the Batman finesse all Batmobiles usually feature. I'm not talking ornate logos plastered everywhere either. If it was a random picture someone showed to me without any context, I don't know if I would've guess it to be for Batman.

I actually think the AK version is a tank Batmobile done right. It's monstrous, but it is also unmistakably Batman's ride.

I think the tumbler is pretty identifiable as a batman vehicle. It has the color, the uniqueness and yes it does even have a sleekness to it, I mean it even vaguely kind of looks like a bat:

There is no "right" batmobile template, every live action model has looked quite different from the last and brought its own element to what the batmobile can be.

I'm pretty sure I read something about how hard it was to make the batmobile work in this game, due to everything it can do. So, yeah, it would probably take immense work to do it again with a different one.

We won't get another one. Best case scenario, we'll get this one in different collors.

His DKR tank didn't feel like a batmobile either. By "batmobile" I mean something, that has the same strong symbolism in it's shapes and forms like Batman himself. Otherwise you can take any tractor, paint it black and call it Batmobile. If you mean big black scary tank/car - fine. We just put different meanings in it.

I like that they use Tumbler as a template for AK. Because Tumbler looks great on it's own. Refreshing. But it shows that Rocksteady tried to make it look more like something bat-related. And, actually, they succeeded. It has certain prominent bat-ears/horns, or bat-wings, depends on how you look at it. Bat-insignia. Fantastic.

I like the:

Arkham Knight Batmobile because it strikes a nice balance between aesthetic and practicality.

Tumbler for sheer practicality.

And the Burton Batmobiles because while impractical they unabashedly embrace Batman and his comic side. It looks like something Batman would drive.

I despise the:

Batman Forever and Batman and Robin ****mobiles. They are gratuitous impractical flashy abominations meant to sell toys. They are not intimidating in any way. They don't say "Dark Knight". They scream "Immmm Fabulousssss!" Batman isn't meant to ride around in a pimp mobile.
