Batman: Arkham Knight

Finished the Catwoman DLC. It was average. Steal a few keys, fight a few robots and that's it. I liked the ending but yeah, it was nothing special.

The last stage of the fight annoyed the hell out of me... until I figured out what the key to it was. Overall, just another in the line of decent play options that were too short.

If all the DLC would be have been on the scope/length of the Batgirl entry, it'd be have been sooooooooooo much better. Hell, I'd sacrifice half the entries if it would double up the content on the remaining ones.

The DLC has been insultingly short. I beat the Robin DLC within 20 minutes while the Catwoman DLC took me maybe 30 minutes, and those times include dying and starting over. The only good thing has been the ton of suits and batmobile skins, but they even screwed those up by not allowing you to use the batmobile skins for most of the game. I’m really kicking myself for getting the season pass, the price just has not been worth it in the slightest.

Yup, I'll NEVER buy as Season Pass for a WB game again. Even the MK one let me down. I should have only bought Jason and Predator.

Which appear in cutscenes, and can be selected from the start, which I will give some points for. I've been wanting that since AA. That's a saving grace for Arkham Knight to me.

That is a plus yes.

For some reason I was inspired to put in the game again over my Thanksgiving break and cherry-picked some of the $1.99 DLC story expansions and AR challenges. Yeah, the Robin/Nightwing/Catwoman stuff is short, but I thought it was kind of fun and for the price I was satisfied. (For the final Catwoman fight, I would advise to not even use counters as they eat up too much precious time. ONLY mashing square is what finally did the trick for me after about 20 tries.)

However I do have a question which I’m sure will be met with many a “git gud” but I’ll throw it out there anyway. Does anyone else find the point requirements in combat challenges to be ridiculously high? I like to think I’m an ok to average player, but in a challenge where you have to get 6 or 10 thousand points to reach even your first star, I can barely break 3 or 4 thousand total by the end of it. I’ve noticed my combo always seem to drop when I deal with a shield thug (of which there are WAY too many to begin with, anyway) even though it feels like it should be seamless, so I’m not quite sure what I’m doing wrong and it’s beyond frustrating. Needless to say I’m enjoying the predator maps a lot more which is kind of the opposite of how it's been in past Arkham games for me. Any thoughts or tips?

Nothing more to offer than you have to keep your combo high. Use your evade/redirect to buy some time to gather yourself in looking for your next attack. If the shield guys are trouble, look to avoid until you have a Disarm/Destroy (if using Batman and the easiest way to eliminate the problem) or just deal with them with Instant Takedowns. Alternatively, use some time in Free Roam to get good at using Aerial Attack and start to incorporate it more if you're not using it already.

Kinda hard to specify with seeing actual play, but the only way to 3 star a number of the combat challenges is in getting high combo counts.

I am no expert but try to plan your attacks and get comfortable incorporating every move possible In succession. When you can vary 9 on like three enemies your on your way.

Here's a potentially stupid question, then, but how do you do a disarm and destroy against a shield thug? I do it with knives all the time (holding back + triangle, on PS4), but for shields I thought the only options were aerial attack or instant takedown.

Triangle + Square on PS4; X+Y on XBox when available, depending on your current combo. Only Batman has that ability.

Awesome to know. I only really started dabbling in these AR challenges within the last week or so I'll definitely get back to practicing with that in mind. :btf:

Nice. Apparently, that was in one of the recents updates. A couple of characters got the Blade Takedown too. I'll have to give that a whirl this weekend. Really like that Babs model.

Yeah, me too. I actually quite like her costume as well, where suit the texture and armour around her abs and the Bat-clip around her neck for the cape, give the design nice touches. I admit I wasn't as keen on the high heels, but they've grown on me, and even then there's a nice sporty design for the soles. I also really like some of her animations - her ground takedown which is a boot-stomp to the sternum is graceful (hah, you'll see), and the takedown against shielded enemies is execellent; in fact it reminded me of Selina Kyle's flip-over and breaking of that inmate's wrists when she's sent to Blackgate from The Dark Knight Rises. Her Silent Takedown animation is superb as well. She looks so nervous during it, and is constanstly looking around, as if it's her first chokehold and she's desperate not to be spotted. She's my favourite model after Post-Arkham City Batman and Arkham Knight Robin.

She probably plays closer to Batman than any other character, having access to the Special Combo Batclaw, Disarm and Destroy and Shockwave Attack (!). But when using the RHD, I think RS should've made her hacking of targets way faster than Batman's.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share these Arkham Knight photos I took. They're nothing spectacular but, I don't know, maybe there are a few gems in here for someone. Anyways, as most of you have already stated, I'm having a lot of fun with the photo mode. I was enjoying it with the '89 Batman suit but now, now I'm obsessed. I love trying to capture cool photos with the BvS suit.

Just a heads up, there are quite a few photos in this spoiler tab. Some times I get a shot and I enjoy trying to take it from multiple angles/framing it differently. Again, hopefully there are a few gems to be found here.

PART 1

Hope you guys enjoy them!

All the best.

Do they not sell/make the standard PS4 bundle anymore? I'm in Canada and have looked everywhere. I may be ***** out of luck.

it was a LE item and has since been replaced by the Uncharted bundle.

Hey there. First time posting.

What are everyone's thoughts on the upcoming Season of Infamy DLC? Not sure if it will disappoint or not.

Arkham knight is game of the year for me. Perfect.

Agree and its not even close. I have zero interest in fall out and in witcher 3 and before all the DLC knight was like my 9th favorite game of all time and now by the end of the DLC it may end up in my top 3 and maybe my number one.

Excellent work!
