Batman: Arkham Knight

Some fans just have extremely high expectations that are virtually impossible to meet ( I can name some of those posters but won't) and when their impossible needs aren't met then they try so hard to push them on other posters to make their needs right. The hate for Knight is like most things in life extremely exaggerated on the internet. Sorry for rant. Just annoying that when we are happy with something we ( I) get abused because I like/love something they don't.

well take care and don't let that get to you any further.

I hate AK's characterizations of most characters and it's story but love the gameplay, which is pretty much the most important thing in a game.

My biggest issue with the franchise has been the characterizations, by AK I feel rocksteady ruined a lot of things and that's a big reason why I want WBM to start fresh with their own ideas. I appreciate what the franchise has done and and have enjoyed all of the games but just want a new start

Nobody needs to agree with me and i'm not bashing those who like the games more than me, i'm simply posting my thoughts and what I would prefer to see with the new upcoming games.

Can you elaborate on the characterisation points? I very much agree but would be interested in finding out how much our opinions overlap.

-Bane and Killer Croc were badly designed or maybe a bit too tall, Bane was mostly a dumb mindless hulk, I also don't think something like titan needed to be used.

-Two Face and many villians were pretty much pathetic

-Batman leaving Talia's dead body behind but carried a dead joker and placing him gently onto a cop car was total bs

-Barbara and Tim being together instead of Barbara and Dick is just wrong

-Barbara urging Bruce to go save Jim&Tim how Scarecrow wanted and then simply saying thanks&sorry after the identity reveal was so bs

-Bruce/Batman could and would have found many ways to save Jim&Tim than just give up easily and surrender his identity

There's probably much more but that's from the top of my mind

The Batmobile and the tank battles became the biggest problem for me. Add to that the fact that they're releasing all these awesome Batmobiles as dlc but we can't even use them for the entire game. Which really sucks. That alone and the constant tank battles and lack of real boss fights sucks imo.

If that was fixed the replay value for me would be very high. Because I'd honestly do a replay through with each new batsuit and their respective Batmobile. Would be so much fun.

Agree with pretty much all of this. One thing that leaps to mind, and was particularly present in Arkham Knight, is this Bat's obsession with never letting anyone else help. I thought for sure that would be his character arc in Knight, what with them hammering home just how much he was pushing away his allies, but nope! Instead it's never addressed, except for one line from Barbara that comes far too late.

Probably the biggest disappointment with Arkham Knight for me was the Deathstroke boss fight. The tank fight was tedious as hell, but it wouldn't have been so bad if you actually got to fight him hand to hand, but nope. He goes down like a mother****ing *****.

I actually don't think that tank fight was that bad. You drive up to him.. Shoot him directly in the face three or four times.. Fight over.

The problem is that there should have been more to facing him, The battle itself is a different issue.

Oh I agree. I'm just saying how stupid the actual battle is. You don't even have to think to beat it. Thinking and being tactical will make you lose. Bum rushing him wins the day.

Another bad characterization, The tank and way the battle goes down isn't Deathstroke's mo! Slate Wilson even at an older age ain't a weak bitter fool like that.

This is why the Deathstroke boss fight in origins is one of my favorites in the series.

It's why I'm very curious to see how WBM would do with batman or another DC game completely with their own ideas and game universe.

I get the feeling they were held back not just by the studio to rush AO for release but having their game being a prequel to a highly regarded franchise. I bet they had a ton of ideas and so I want to see them come up with all new character designs for a new game world!

Origins is, to me, the best Batman game as a whole.

I'm right there with you. It's my favorite of the Arkham games as well for sure. I'm excited to see what WBM does with other DC properties now or another Batman game.

WBM had a very different philosophy in constructing it's one story compared to Rocksteady's; you can tell that WBM wanted to embrace some of the passion for the entire world of Gotham and its heroes, while Rocksteady was embracing the idea of Batman as an excessively escapist character. The former encourages an approach to storytelling where Batman can still be overwhelmed and immature, but also live in a world where he's got people willing to call him out on it, and where multiple characters can shine outside of the main cast. The latter seems at times ashamed of the hangers-on and insists on having Batman, as a player stand-in, tackle every problem by himself to the extent of hamstringing and insulting the other heroes, and really only focuses on the main hero and villain.

It's why some of the best character moments are in both games, but also why the RS games have a few more flawed characterizations that stand out.

Fourth, I wish it was a bc game on Xbox One!!

Yeah I wish they'd remaster it, I want it for ps4
