I can only imagine how slow your computer runs when this things loaded...hehe.In all sincerity, the reason this fails is because it looks as if it was pasted together. Your overall key to creating believeable, in this case manips, is to have everything blend together and appear as if it's all part of the original image. Shadows are not solid lines, they're gradual. And for the most part, they won't be completely black. You also need to work on composition.
But I think it's not the skill that you lack so much as it may be the fundamentals of design. You're only as good as the effort you're willing to put forth. So try and learn the basics, and all that jazz, and keep at it. You're bound to make something eye popping, in the good kind of way that is.
And to end on a good note, I like the idea of the letter O being a coin.
