Batman Beyond coming to Comics!

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the Sightings banners that DC was supposed to put on "important" issues? DiDio made a big deal of them when it started out, but the only issue I ever remember having that banner was an issue of World of New Krypton. I wonder if they realized they were implying everything without a Sightings banner was unimportant.
I don't even remember the Sightings banners. :o

I can agree some of the stuff they did with bruce and the sidekicks sucked. But the concept and costume of beyond rocked. I would love if they told stories without getting in to too much of that other junk. Anyways I'll try it out.

They never really even got into the stuff with Babs and Bruce outside a couple of references and allusions. It really wouldn't have been that big of a deal if it wasn't something that was so utterly wrong.

I'll probably just pick up the annual. That writer-who-must-not-be-named kills my interest for the mini. Which is a shame, since I loved Beyond.

Yeah, you don't need anything more than the merest hint of a suggestion that Bruce and Babs were, at some point, f***ing. It's just wrong all over.

I'll be getting the annual. I like the future Superman and the JLU, it'll be nice to see Terry again and get a feel for what they're trying to do with him in the comics, and, most importantly, it's not being written by Beechen. :)

I vaguely remember them. Weren't they suppose to have some importance to Fina Crisis or something, seems like they started that a little before FC started.

They were supposed to point out "important" moments in the overall DC continuity, which was supposed to inspire bigger sales. The only one I ever remember seeing is the one I linked.

I think there was one on an issue or two of JLA. Seems like maybe there was one on Supergirl once...I don't know, I never payed much attention to them

Maybe they realized they put one on Supergirl and that they were now completely meaningless.

I did a quick google and the only issues I could find that had them were the one you posted, Action Comics #866, and JLA #21.

There were only five books with the Sightings banner. Justice League of America #21 (the prelude to Final Crisis), Justice League of America #27 (integration with the Milestone Universe), Action Comics #866 (first issue of the Brainiac arc), Reign in Hell #4 (which I think was where Lobo's soul was freed), and Superman: New Krypton Special #.

So yeah, it was really ****ing pointless.

"Where Lobo's soul was freed"? Man, it's a shame this Sightings thing didn't last longer. Clearly, they had exactly the right kind of standards for what qualifies as a "significant event in the DC universe."

Odd that I just realized that issue of Reign in Hell explains the ending of Lobo: Highway to Hell.

Yeah, they promoted it as the return of Lobo even though he never went anywhere and was in Brave and the Bold and 52 just months before hand.

How so? I didn't read Highway to Hell. Mostly because I find Sam Keith's art to be appalling and the $6.99 cover price to be atrocious. That and I really don't like Lobo.

Satan kills a space dolphin, so Lobo goes into Hell after him, and ends up getting stuck there.

So Highway to Hell takes place before Reign in Hell......even though it came out a whole year after Reign in Hell #4.

I thought Lobo was banned from both Heaven and Hell for tearing too much s*** up when he died and went to both.

Embrace the main man! EMBRAAAAACCE!! :woot:

That's what I thought too. Also, I don't recall Lobo dying since he was shown just months ago in other comics. I was confused :csad:

Still am. :awesome:

Eh, whatever, it's not like Lobo ever has any kind of ongoing character development to worry about. He is now and ever shall be the Main Man. If he shows up somewhere, forget what happened to him before and just enjoy it. :)
