im confused they are lookin for a 40ish grizzled batman is this for this film and justice league only? henry cavil is 30 why do they want a older batman opposite him?unless its just for these 2films.dont they need a younger batman to carry another solo trilogy for 10yrs?

Noone really knows, its all rumours and speculation at this point so you never know WB may go for an actor around cavills age.

I think the older actor news started just so that more seasoned actors could be considered because it seems that casting younger means they would not be big names, or would be less experienced actors.

It's harder to come up with younger ones and easier to pick from a list of already known older ones.

I believe its because we're assuming that having an older Batman would mean we don't have to see his origins being re-told a few years after Nolan's version.

I didn't know it was news or considered an inside scoop for someone to make a pretty safe and logical assumption. Lol.

haha. that was how a lot of people interpreted it. makes sense though. kinda coincides with superman's actions in man of steel too. but batman did it off panel. since the story was considered canon and joker came back and barbara was paralyzed, it didn't happen in canon if that makes sense. it doesn't to me and i typed it.

He's been suggested before but thought I'd bring his name up again for discussion.

Andrew Lincoln (39 years old, 5'10)

For 3 years now, he's been the star of The Walking Dead. Bruce Wayne would look so different from his character Rick Grimes. I know it's hard for people to picture him other than anyone but Rick, but I think he's a great actor who can do it all, action, drama, brooding or charismatic.

He would be nearly impossible to get due to his Walking Dead commitments, but if a miracle happens and they could, he's a star with a huge fan following already. He's just the right age for an older Batman/Bruce, and would play well opposite Henry Cavill or Amy Adams.

I've been saying he'd be a good Batman since the first season. Better than most names suggested so far.

I may get stoned for saying this but I don't think Jayden Smith is that bad. The Karate Kid remake is better than the original despite only sharing a name.

Well, I doubt we will see Robin in this sequel, and I don't think they would cast a Jimmy under 18, even if he was maybe 16 if that in his earliest comic appearances.

Although who I really want them to cast is Lucy Lane.

I actually have a suspicion they wanted an actor older than Cavill to play Superman. Sometimes you go for the best actor, even if they are not exactly the age you want. You can do things to make people look older or younger in different parts, as we saw with Diane Lane as Martha.

Filming is expected to start in February or March, so an announcement was always imminent. Plus, we already know they have started the casting process. So again, an announcement was coming soon anyways.
