I don't know about that. He let Miranda dupe him pretty bad, that despite getting up close and personal with her.
There was also the thing with the fingerprints. He knew Selina stole his fingerprints, and then the thing with the stock market happened. He still didn't make the connection until he was broke.
I think there were opportunities, but for the sake of the plot, they decided not to have those type of moments.
Sure there were opportunities to add those moments but ultimately there really wasn't some great mystery . He never suspected Miranda of anything so there wasn't any need for him to investigate her, He knew that Bane was up to something though he wasn't sure of the scope, Blake and Gordon already found out about the underground workers etc. It wasn't like BMOTP where there was an actual mystery and a killer that required Bruce to put alot of pieces together to come up with a solution.
I guess the prints was pretty much the only thing that would qualify as a mystery in terms of why and who she was giving the prints to, but if its between taking time to focus on the build up to the sacking of gotham and Bruce doing detective work, Imo, Nolan made the right call.
